I kept watching the tv for school closing...they are home today

The thing is I watch until it was time for them to get up. Fot 2 hours this morning I watched that darn news to see if their school would be one that wasn't going today. I even watched last night to see if they would put it in there. The thing is they knew it was going to snow today. I got the children up, fixed them some hot chocolate and breakfast. I sat down to brush the girls hair and I get a phone call. It's one of the other grandchildren that just hapen to be sick and didn't come to spend a few days with us because we would like get sick if he did. Well he called to say don't get the others ready they have no school. Why is it that the schools wait til the last minute to let us know the children are not going? I mean it was just about 10 minutes and the bus would be here to pick them up. Although their grandpa had said he would take them to school. He likes doing this rather than the young ones having to deal with the rude, cussing and older high school kids that pick on them. Anyway, they are home. They have been making things with the pop cycle sticks and now are occupying themselves with the coloring books. They got up at 6am and got dressed, ready to go when it was not nessecary. Now they are awake and won't go back to bed. Finding things for thm to do constantly is a challenge. How do you feel when the children are home on snow days or other bad weather days? What do you have them do during the day?
