First salmonella in peanut butter now MERCURY IN CORN SYRUP!

I heard it on the news a couple days ago. I don't think it will be in diet because they don't use corn syrup for diet drinks. It's a major sweetener for a lot of food.

I heard about it on the morning news and there is some information on the internet. The food items I mentioned are not recalled either. I think it's strange that on both instances, the products were major brand names. I usually buy generic, great value brand (walmart carries it), but there are a couple things that I won't buy generic like coffee and cream cheese! If there is a target to poison people I think it would be the consumers that waste a lot. People that only buy brand name in my opinion are bigger wasters.

Judging from so many food recalls recently, probably is time for the food and safety agency to get an overhaul, seem like they are not up to the task of monitoring and safeguarding against consumer food safety malpractices. I can only keep my finger cross and hope for the best before any catastrophic disaster like mass food poisoning take place.

A family that was poisoned was interviewed on the national news last week and the father of the boy that was poisoned said the FDA was understaffed due to funding and he was sticking up for the FDA which I thought was odd.

The main reason i heard over and over is under stuffs in FDA, i will think the agency has no projection of how many inspectors they really need each year, it is such a convenience excuse ever come out from Government agency, it is not the first time food safety malpractice ever happen in USA history, FDA need complete overhaul if can not carry out its oversight duty and responsibility on public food and drug safety.

Series of drugs like heparin, baby formula,plastic toy, etc, recalled should raised a red flag for FDA already, funny but the recall of different marketed products continue to take place.
