Hi Shark! First of all, I love drivel... I'd really love to hear about the repeating noises. (the visions, as well, actually, but I'm trying not to be greedy) So one day, when you have extra time to go on and on about it feel free to do so. The singing of the advert at the same time was synchronicity at work... Possibly it happened because you and your brother, having spent a fair amount of time together, just were that much in tune to one another...Are you twins? That sort of thing happens to twins a lot... penny

Ok, seeing as your interested, I'll tell you (I'm going to try to be brief, but this is me... I'm not good at brief).

I think both could be accounted for by needing sleep. The visions I can remember could well have been half sleeping half awake dreams. I was also a child at these times, maybe between the ages of 5 and 9, and unfortunately I can't be specific about the ages. I will try to put them in the order they happened.

The first I remember having was kind of controlable. I would lie in bed with my head near the side of the bed, looking down the gap between the bed and the wall. I remember being able to see random things, not many I can remember but one that I can was looking down as if from a shop mirror or camera and seeing my nan shopping, so I'd wave and she'd wave back. I would control them by closing my eyes then opening them again to see something different, and if I wanted to jump back to seeing something else I would just close my eyes, think of what I'd like to see and open my eyes again.

Another vision I remember, and I'm sure I was awake at the time, was seeing my mum's uncle standing outside my bedroom door, then the door to the upstairs toilet (located at a right angle to my bedroom door) would be suddenly open (not swing open, just going from closed to open) blocking my view of said relative. Then it would revert to being closed and there was the alien, from the "Alien" movies, just standing and watching me, then the toilet door opened and closed again and there was nothing there. I know that this could be seen as I saw my mum's uncle as a monster, but I honestly didn't. And they were around for a visit that night and left after my brothers and I went to bed.

Lastly, the sounds. These I remember started after our house got burgled. I didn't want to stay in my room alone that night, so I slept tops and tails with my younger brother in the top bunk, and my older brother in the bottom bunk. We were watching the UK "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (when it was new). After it finished I saw an advert for a film or program to be on soon. I remember that it had two faces on the screen covered in blood (it was quite late). My brothers were asleep so I got up to turn of the TV and went to bed. I then heard someone whispering my name, but I didn't recognise the voice. I thought I imagined it so ignored it, then I heard it again, repeating over and over getting a little louder. I began crying as I got scared and woke my brothers. My mum came in to find out what was wrong, I told her and both brothers, who both swore it wasn't them, and began to calm down, and went to sleep. They next night I slept in my own room, hearing the calling again, so I hid under the covers. This went on for quite a while, changing from my name being called to bangs and thumps, repeating rhythmically over and over. Sometimes getting louder. I couldn't say how long this lasted or how often it happened, but I can remember the feeling of it quite vividly.

Well, Shark...I think two things are going on (at least). First, I get the impression that from a young age you were: 1.) Clairvoyant (seeing the visions, lead me to this conclusion. 2.) possibly Clairaudient (hearing your name called and hearing the taps and thumps IF no one else can hear them, are a dead giveaway. and 3.) you appear to have been able to Astral Project (Astral Projection or Out of Body Experience) (seeing your nan shopping may reflect that ability which is reputedly a natural ability of humans--we having a double nature--human and spirit). Only you can know for sure by reading up on those abilities...key in New Age or Clairvoyant/audience and info on the four Clairs should come up....

As to the alien monster sighting and the voices/sounds in particular, did they occur in the same house? Watching scary movies before bedtime is rarely a good thing, especially if you have psychic abilities (we all do to different degrees). But adding to the probablity of frightening movies bringing on equally frightening events, I wonder if the house was haunted and if the presences were of a negative quality and feeding off of your furtive imagination? I cannot otherwise fathom why you saw the scary image in relation to your uncle...I wonder if you held some subconscious suspicions regarding his personality. Did you consider him an unpleasant person? or perhaps there was a presence in the house that used his image to frighten you.

Your looking down and seeing different images when you were lying in bed was very interesting, as well. I don't think too many people have visions. I find Astral Projection quite freaky and don't prefer to experience it, yet I highly suspicion that those half in/half out states are actually our spirit selves having astrally projected and traversing about in some realm I certainly don't understand. But what I have read is that our dreams are astral travel events and when we awake, we are remembering those trips or events as dreams.

Just to let you know, in my last apartment and in my current one, I have heard my name called several times and then I started hearing short phrases that were too distant and often too quickly spoken to understand. I began to hear strange taps and clicks, some of which I determined were my stereo units and TV exteriors, cooling off after having been turned off. BUT when those clicks or taps (for lack of a better word) occur several hours AFTER the unit has cooled off...one wonders whether something is trying to get one's attention. Now, how I learned that I was Clairaudient was throught the various articles I have read on the internet and a pultry few books...I realized the clairaudient nature of the sounds when I'd hear my name being called or hear strange echoings of a door being slammed above my head or musical notes and phantom doorbells. These sounds, have been heard often when I had earplugs in!

Others have probably had similar events happen to them, and when they read of yours, they compare your experiences to theirs. That's interesting, Bethsmom...Did you feel the dream was really God speaking to you? I dreamed once, that I was standing on the sidewalk on a sunny day and there was this big, white fluffy cloud on the ground before me. Out of it I hear what is supposed to be God, telling me thank you for raising my daughter, Angela. I woke up and said to myself, "Is He kidding? Does he know what a lousy job I'm doing?" Then again...considering what an ingrate my daughter can be, perhaps I'll accept His thanks, after all....

That's the funny thing-- it did not feel like a dream at all. I felt like He was speaking directly to me and the happiness I felt when I woke up was indescribable!
