Does Kurt Warner belong to the HoF? |
| |
| A lot of experts are saying he does not belong to the HoF, simply because he started late in his career, and only producing at best 4 great football seasons(including this year). Personally I think he does not belong, mainly due to the reason above, but to be honest I WANT him to make it to Canton when his playing days are over. He is a classic example of an athlete(an individual for that matter), who was given a small chance and made the most out of it. Sadly I don't think there are "mercy" votes for the hall electors, so I don't hink he will get in...Unless he wins another SB. What do you all think? | | | | | |

| | I don`t think he is a HOF QB. THere are lots of people who were not given much of a chance who made it.He really dosen`t have enough wins to get in. Add the fumbles in big games and he will be remember for losing the ball more than winning. | | | | | | |

| | Yeah we all remember his head scratching fumbles, but then again when he played great, he really was on top of his game. I'm still hoping he gets in, eventhough his body of work may not be enough. | | | |

| | I doubt he will make it in. It would be nice to see his story in, but there are so many good QBs that are more deserving. The best argument I have heard on ESPN was if you have to question if someone should go into the HoF, then he isn't a Hall of Famer. That clears up a lot of questions in my mind. I agree with the statement, because if you let to many people in, then the HoF loses its luster. I don't think he will make it, but I really enjoy watching Kurt Warner play. His story is definitly an inspiration to all athletes. | | | | | | |

| | I think Kurt Warner belongs in the Hall. He has the Super Bowl win, MVP's, Passing yards, TD's. He has better stats than Aikman (minus a couple rings). I don't see the difference in someone starting late in the career as someone leaving early in their career (Barry Sanders, Jim Brown). Being a backup for those years after the Rams definately brings up some red flags, but in the time frame from the Rams to the Cardinals he obviously didn't loose a step. Also, look what the great quartbacks of all time have done for wide receivers, they get them into the hall. Warner throwing the ball to Holt and Bruce, as well as, Fitzgerald and Boldin will only help them get into the hall. | | | | | | |

| | I think that Kurt Warner does belong in the Hall of Fame but I don't think he will get in. He has been in 3 Superbowls now and has a Superbowl ring. His quarterback rating in the Superbowl are one of the highest ever. The question now is if he will return for another season or retire. | | | | | | |

| | That is a tough one, he has the numbers, he has the ring, but he doesn't have the name, nor did he play in a big city. I really wouldn't feel bad either way, I personally wouldn't vote for him, but I wouldn't be upset if he got in. | | | | | | |

| | There is no doubt in my mind that he deserves to get in. Now, whether or not he will is still up in the air. The numbers are there. He has done so much more in those few VERY good years, than others in the Hall did in their entire career. And, come on..he took the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl! The Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl! He has the top 3 highest passing yard games in Super Bowl history. He went to 3 Super Bowls with 2 teams and was the best player in all 3 games..at least two of them if you give it to Fitzgerald this past game. He's one of those players you just find yourself rooting for no matter where he is. Personally, I hope he plays again another year or two. If he does, and has good numbers, Super Bowl or not, I think he's a lock. | | | | | | |

| | He had the #1, 2, and 3 best passing yardage games in Super Bowl history. Someone once said that you belong in the HOF if the story of the NFL during your time cannot be told without mentioning your name. Years from now if you told the history of the NFL from this decade to your kids or grandkids, how in the world could you omit this guy? The story alone is totally unbelievable. If they had made a fictional movie like this in the mid 90's or earlier you would think it is so unrealistic it could never happen. To even make it as a starter would be a crazy idea. But to put up the number he did with the Rams, be the MVP and win the Super Bowl that year was insane. You have to let him in. | | | | | | |

| | well as far as the super bowl goes it certainly wasnt because of him that his teams were 1-2 he played great did any1 really think after that demoralizing int right b4 the half against the steelers that arizona even had a chance to make it close let alone take the lead and almost win it his teams could as easily have been 3-0 then 1-2 then would he be a lock for the hall of fame? | | | | | | |

| | It would seem as though one of the requirements for Qbs to get in is the number of SB wins. 1 or 2 SB wins does not automatically get you in, but 3 certainly does. Another scenario is if the said QB has amassed an impressive stat throughout his career. I totally agree with you that it really isn't Warner's fault his teams lost those 2 SBs, in fact Kurt Warner was the biggest reason why his teams almost won those 2. | | | |
