Cabin Fever!  | |  I am getting cabin fever staying at home with my three kids, ages 3, 2, and 1. My oldest goes to preschool in the morning and comes home at 1230, they eat lunch then it's nap time. After they get up from nap, I don't have any fresh ideas for what to do! It's way to cold to take them outside and the snow is mostly ice patches now, so that's a no go. I have taken them to the play center at the mall, but our mall is almost 12 miles away! Anyone else stay at home and have some new toddler friendly games or past-times?

the library has free movies and games that you can take home with you. also, you could look on the net for free colouring pages and easy crafts for kids.
(i didnt have the net when my kids were little!!)

If you have a non carpeted room, lay down alot of newspapers, and then let them paint with fingers and toes... (though you may want to put up a saftey gate so they don't go running threw the carpeted areas)
If you have any old uncooked macaroni, set out some paper and let them glue it on there..
My 17 month old daugher loves playing kitchen, so that's what we do alot of the day. We cook all kinds of concotions up with her play food. I live in the south so it's easy for us to go outside and just let her play in the yard.
We also play hot pocket, but instead of throwing we roll the ball back and forth, it's a simple game, and she loves to do that.
I can totally feel ya on the cabin fever. I am a stay a home mom as well, granted only have my 17 month old at home from 8 til 2, then her brother get's home from school, so I am always looking for something other than housework to do to keep me busy and keep it simple so I can interact with her.

| Jae2619 (1135) | 11 months ago | With our first child, he was the learner, he wanted to read, and do puzzles and things he could do on his own and by himself to keep himself occupied, but with my little girl she could care less about how a puzzle goes together. She wants to run, jump and be active so I have to find things that will keep her occupied and keep her intrested. She likes coloring, thought that's been limited because she seems to always fine a place to stuff that crayon for later use on my walls, or her brother's books. | |

| | | 3. sunshine4 (6288) | 11 months ago |  That is my life~ I run a home daycare and I live for naptime! After naps the kids are only here for about an hour, so we generally will have a snack and then get out puzzels, or crayons and paper for them to do until their parents come here.
If you don't mind a mess, it is always fun to fingerpaint using shaving cream or even pudding. I do this her wiht the kids, but usually in the summer time outside because of the mess.
