Does Lost every leave you confused? Last night I was watching and the ones on the island said it was three months or so since the wreck but the ones off the island talks about it being around 3 years at times. So I'm wondering if time on the island moves real slow when the whole time thing isn't shifting. What do you think? Maybe I misunderstood.

I tried really hard to get back into Lost this season. I started watching the 2 hour season premiere and just got totally bored and lost. I have it on DVR, so I can pick it back up where I left off. I am not sure that I want to though. I also have episodes 2 and 3. I will try once more to get into it, but if I don't, then it's over. I want to love the show, but it seems to have lost the oomph it had the first years.

to me they just got to many thing going on at once. It's hard to keep up with it, plus it stays off the air so long at a time,I guess they think people are going to remember everything that happens until they get ready to put it back on each time.

I think it would be really good if the station would broadcast the final episode of the previous season to refresh our memories, before screening the new series.

ABC did broadcast a recap type of episode before the season premiere, it was an hour designed to catch watchers up from the beginning with the highlights of what happened in the previous seasons. It was definitely worth seeing, it might be available on ABC to stream or check youtube or other sites where you could download it.

It can get a little complicated but I can follow it pretty well. Currently they are showing the 6 who left the island when it is 3 years after they left and switching back to the ones left behind 3 years before and showing what is happening to them right after the 6 left. The main thing that is happening is that the ones left behind are being switched between different points in time whenever one of the flashes occurs. The last flash put Jin, and prsumably all the others left behind, in the time period when the pregnant French woman and her crew were first shipwrecked on the island about 16 years before the plane crash. At some point the 6 will probably return and then the two times will be joined somehow as yet to be determined or shown to us.

myLot reputation of 89/100. sweetashoney (766)   ranked 77 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

See this is the kind of thing that I'm talking about, It didn't even dawn on me that the pregnant french woman was the same one that they met a long time ago. Now I always did think that they would bring Jin's (I think that's his name) back.

kingfan (29)   ranked 597 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

Having watched since season 1, I don't find it confusing. Daniel Farraday also said that the time displacement affects some people by making them sick and sometimes killing them. It also affects their memories. Remember last night when Myles started the nosebleed and thought he had only been on the island two weeks?
As soon as I heard those people at the end speaking French, I just knew that was Rousseau!

I am definitely looking forward to next week's episode.

myLot reputation of 92/100. stealthy (2993)   ranked 13 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

Actually I think Myles has only been on the island for two weeks this time, that is the time he came with the freighter. But what Faraday probably was implying was that Myles may have been there some other time that Myles doesn't know about yet or something.

myLot reputation of 92/100. mommyboo (3383)   ranked 74 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

I knew it was Rousseau as soon as I heard everybody on the raft speaking French. When she took off her jacket you could see she was pregnant... and then she told Jin her name. Did you SEE the way Jin looked at her? LOL! Of course she doesn't know who Jin is, Alex was 16 or 17 or whatever by the time she actually met anybody that crashed.

Personally, I do not think the 6 need to return. The only person pushing for that is BEN and it's HIS FAULT the island moved in time anyway. Someone needs to off him, that's all I have to say about it.

I was trying to remember if Jin and Rousseau had any encounters in the previous seasons. Wouldn't she have recognized and remembered him if they had met in the 80's? Time travel shows and movies never seem to add up right to me.

You can watch any episode from any season on abc.com. I wish knew that before I went and bought the first two seasons on dvd a couple of years ago.

I've only watched the show one or two times but I have never heard of that. I just follow what is going on that week and don't bother with any timeline.

myLot reputation of 89/100. sweetashoney (766)   ranked 77 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

To me this is the type of show that a person almost has to watch from the very beginning to really understand whats going on.

myLot reputation of 96/100. leonelaphotography (922)   ranked 194 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

Oh, okay.

myLot reputation of 92/100. mommyboo (3383)   ranked 74 out of 766 in lost  11 months ago

Yes, this is the type of show where you have to watch it from the beginning and in order or you have no idea what is going on. I had a friend who was SO into it, she talked about it all the time. Since I hadn't watched it from the beginning, she'd ramble and it would make no sense, no sense at all. It never made sense until I watched it from the beginning, but now that I have, I know EXACTLY why she was so into it. You CAN watch each episode as a stand-alone if you want to, but it helps fill things in better if you recall what happened in the episode before. Especially with all the flash backs and flash forwards, if you have a good grasp of what has happened, then it makes more sense.

For instance, in one section John Locke is talking to Richard Alpert and Richard tells the guy pointing a gun at John to put it down - and he calls him Widmore. Turns out it was 1954 and that young guy pointing the gun at John is CHARLES WIDMORE. Most watchers have probably figured out that Alpert is probably somewhere along the lines of 400+ years old, and he can remake himself into anybody he needs to be to suit the purpose ... ie the guy who shows up when John is a little boy to see if he's a 'fit' for his special school, the researcher who is offering Juliet a 'job' as a fertility specialist for his 'company in Portland'... etc.
The last thing that just happened was Jin being found by the French researchers - one of which is Danielle Rousseau - and she is very young... and pregnant with Alex.

*raises hand* I do! LOL I admit that sometimes I do get lost while watching Lost television show. I'm party to blame as well because I'm not able to watch it regularly. I miss episodes because I just can't seem to keep up on its regular schedule. Maybe when I can better afford it, I'll be able to buy the series on its dvd releases and curl up watching all the seasons:-)

When lost first came on,well really up until this season I worked at night and had to record it every week. Sometimes I would forget to record it and would mess that week. I think thats why I get lost sometimes when I watch it now.

oh I get very lost...LOL, I like how they show the week before show and give you the little info bar on the bottom ...it helps, but you still are completely lost at the end of the show. I think they named it very good.. because there really couldnt be another name for it... LOL

I have seen a couple interviews with some of the characters and they said this year is going to answer alot and then next season is the last one... I hope they answer alot since we have watched this from the beginning.

The new season hasn't started showing in Australia yet and, with most series, we can't view them online until they have screened here. I get a message saying the content is not available in my region. However, I have seen every season up to now. I do get very confused sometimes. I find it quite difficult to follow when they jump between flashbacks, the island and what has happened AFTER the island. Still, I really like the show and do my best to keep up.

There is so much going on in Lost. The best thing to do is to watch the one hour recap episode which was shown before the 2 hour season 5 premiere - or watch the 8:15 recap on the first disc of the 4th season on dvd.

I am a late fanatic, I watched seasons 1-3 on dvd within the last half year, and the 4th season just before the 5th season started. The best part about watching this way is that it hasn't taken me 3 or 4 years all told to watch it, I got to watch episodes back to back or rewatch them.

There are a lot of flashbacks and flash forwards, as well as the whole conundrum of the island moving in time. Even BEN and John talk about 'moving the island' as well as Daniel Farraday. As far as I can tell, they were on that island for just over 3 months of time - ON THE ISLAND. As far as everybody else, I think more time passed OFF the island. Also, three years have passed since the 6 were rescued - Aaron goes from being 3 months old to being 3 years old, various things happen between Kate and Jack, Desmond and Penny have a son (Charlie), etc.

I am still really fired up about a few things. NOBODY has explained with any degree of sense why in the world ANY of them are trusting BEN. If I saw that guy when I was driving around Los Angeles, I would be running my arse off and calling 911, the SWAT team, and my lawyer! BEN has no business showing up, harrassing, stalking, following, or trying to talk to or convince ANY OF THEM of anything, he is CRAZY and he TRIED TO KILL THEM! He KILLED both his mother AND his father, he wiped out the entire group of dharma initiative people! He killed Alex (and I do not think Alex was his daughter) too, so I kind of think at this point Ben deserves to die. Anyway, you'd not catch me trusting him, I wouldn't even give him the time of day. It seems like Kate has the right idea, if I were her I'd be fleeing the country with Aaron and hiding. Hurley had the right idea, getting locked up to get away from Ben. I'm not sure if Sayid is going to choose the right path at this point, but JACK is very very wrong in getting led on by Ben.

I'm also going to use this post to complain about Daniel Farraday - WHY doesn't anybody see that he's lying to them all and hiding things? He KNOWS things but Sawyer backs down instead of beating the truth out of him. I'd beat the truth out of him!! And Juliet? She bothers me in the same way. She is withholding information too, and she has done that from the beginning when she first appears in the series holding Jack hostage. I KNOW she wants to get off that island and go home and see her sister. She really should just do whatever she can to accomplish that and stop trying to be a peace keeper and STOP LYING. She is not trustworthy, Daniel is not trustworthy, Ben is not trustworthy. I used to think I trusted Sayid but now I don't, he killed too many people because BEN told him to. I do trust Hurley but heck, everybody thinks he's crazy, and I trust Kate but she runs from everything! I trust Sawyer but he has been a wimp lately..... Locke is another matter. On the island, he is alive still. Meanwhile, in the real world he appears to be a corpse in a casket, being watched over by a butcher where Ben gets his steaks. Not to mention he has been given a new name - Jeremy Bentham?! Mmmm kay. There are a lot of 'holes' yet to be filled in. No wonder it's still so addicting.
