It is bad enough just having to go to the hospital but having to deal with the nightmare that can ruin your life finacially after dealing with the health issues just makes it all that much worse. I went through this and had to file BK over it - it was outrageous - $10 for A, as in ONE, asprin. $49 for A, as in ONE, tagamet pill and the list went on. I argued, but it did no good.

So While all this bickering is going on about the stimulus bill of billions and billions to help the economy, like allowing new cars sales to deduct state sales tax and interest on new cars bought this year, since everyone is unemployed, who the heck has the money to buy a car and spend all that money in the first place only to have a tax deduction next year to maybe lower what you owe. meaning hardly anything going back into the economy.... and a $15k tax deduction if you buy a new home (who has that much money to put down on a new home in the first place so it can be deducted the following years - yes years), why doesn't Obama and the Dems and Reps put some money into creating an organization and hiring lot of people to help with this disgusting treatment to so many! It'd put alot of people to work as well as saving people alot of money that could be spent elsewhere on product to improve the economy.
Don't you think this would be a good place to start improving this country? Stop letting the big guys scam "main street"

It's not going to work. It hasn't worked in the past. All these stimulus ideas that been tried before during the great depression and it didn't help. Throwing money at the problem won't help, it just makes the depression/recession last longer. spending billions or even a trillion dollars of tax payers money won't help... because it just comes back out of our taxes again.. while the ones floating along on welfare pay nothing. If there is going to be a stimulus it should be for those who paid taxes in the first place, rather than giving free money to those that never pay taxes at all, and then the tax payers pay for everything.

Leave the economy alone, the government screws it up EVERY time they stick their nose into it.

I agree with you. THe money they are handing out is not going to help us at all. YOu have to put the money in the hands of those that will spend in on product and living necessities and the like. Buying up bad debts isn't going to help anything as there still is no income generated from that. And if you have unemployed people, there is no money being spent... so the economy isn't going to grow at all. Tax deductions won't help. But a tax cut will - if there is more on our paychecks for us to spend, we will have it to buy more things and get that money out there into the economy circle. But you have to have a job to get a paycheck to spend...

My point on this was - Hire a company to set up a company to hire people to audit the hospitals charges... that way people will get jobs, and patients will not have to over spend to fulfil the hospitals greediness and will be able not only to pay their bills, but have enough left over to buy other things that will help the economy. If all the money goes to the bill... none will go to the economy.
