Christian Bale & his fame |
|
Do you think that Christian Bale's Batman fame has made him totally lost his pretty little head? It seems to me that the more famous he gets, the more obnoxious he becomes! He had me at "Shaft" and the there was "An American Psycho" and "The Machinist"...I just loved him, but my God, he has certainly seemed to let his fame & fortune go straight to his head. I am not liking him so much these days! I think I will even have to skip the Batman movie, even though I wasn't really too much into that one anyway...Super Heroes just don't do it for me! I can say for certain that I will never see The Terminator 4...enough of that crap already! What say you?

I mean, in this case of the set issue, why did it take 6 months for it to make the media? No one has ever asked the question "Why would some hold the tape for 6 months and then release it?".
I think it's easy for us to critique other people, especially those in places of public eye. We forget that they are human, they make mistakes, they get angry, they loose their composure, etc.
And yes, he is famous. He's made a name for himself on his own merit. Why should he not feel successful? It seems like in America we are so jealous of anyone that has more success then we do that we find ways to exploit those that are.

mibngold (1525) | 11 months ago | So, are you saying that it is OK to be that disrespectful to someone, no matter who you are? I still am a fan of Bale, but remember the problems that occured with his mom & sister during or after the Batman movie was made? I would never speak to anyone in that manner, I don't care how angry I was. I wish him all the best but I also hope he calms his attitude down a bit!

Anora_Eldorath (2609) | 11 months ago | No, I am not excusing poor behavior. I'm saying everyone has slips. You cannot honestly tell me that you've never spoken poorly to someone out of anger, no one is perfect. It's the old saying from Christ, "Let he is without sin cast the first stone", note that even the Christ did not cast a stone.
I think we become so caught up in the lives of celebrities because as America, that seems to be where the concern is.
If it had been Joe Schmoe from downtown in the office, there would be no tape, no media coverage, and soon forgotten by his fellow workers.
In the case of Mr. Bale, there were never any charges filed by his family as there was not enough credible evidence.

2. cobrateacher (4274) | 11 months ago | Hi! Was it just me, or did all his apologies sound like something he was told to say, rather than sincere apologies. Sort of like A-Rod and the steroids! Anyway, there are others to watch. At least he wasn't as bad as Chris Brown! Luvya, Joanne

mibngold (1525) | 11 months ago | Hi Back at ya...I still really like Christian Bale..If you have seen the movies that I mentioned, he was awesome. I just think that maybe the Super Hero fame of that Batman movie may have given him a bit of a swollen head. And as for A-Rod, I would sooner see him doing steroids than Madonna! Not very familiar with the Chris Brown story but I am sure I will hear about it...The TV is never off in this house! Love ya back!

cobrateacher (4274) | 11 months ago | On the way to the Grammies last night, Chris Brown was arrested for beating the crud out of Rhianna. Apparently, he broke her nose and cut her lip and left some sever bite marks on her. Until last night I thought he was a superior talent. Now I'm just disgusted, especially since he gave an interview not long ago in which he said he grew up watching his mother being abused and he slept with a Bible to help insure that he wouldn't ever hit a woman! Neither of them did their performances at the Grammies. He was in jail and she was in the hospital. Stinks, no?

3. Opal26 (10182) | 11 months ago | Hey mib! I was never a big fan of his to begin with and now I can say that I will never be! He has lost his friggen mind for sure! After what he did I wouldn't pay to see him in any movie or anything! There was no excuse for what he did and no apology that would be good enough! These actors just get to be to conceded and think that they can do and say and treat people however they want to and get away with it! It is time for them to learn that they can't and that they need to be punished for what they do! I think he is a phucking azzhole!

mibngold (1525) | 11 months ago | Mornin' Opal...Hey, why don't ya say what is really on your mind? LOL I didn't know a thing about him...never even heard of him until I saw "Shaft"...we didn't have any TV at that time, so I saw that movie to the point where I could probably recite it...word for word. Then I caught "american Psycho" which I loved...then my boyfriend turned me on to "Tha Machinist"..so I did become a fan. I do agree with you 100% that no one has the right to treat other people in the manner that he has been treating people, but I also think that you see an awful lot of that in Hollywood...They get famous and think they can get away with anything. I couldn't stand the sight of Russell Crowe for the longest time, until he seemed to mellow out & explain himself on Letterman or one of those shows. As for Bale, his choices in movies at this point are a complete turn off to me...Even though I do have the Dark Night on my queue at Netflix, I keep moving it to the bottom because I don't care for Batman movies...I only put it on there because of Bale to begin with. Now, Terminator 4..Please make it stop! Thanks for replying honey!

mibngold (1525) | 11 months ago | Hi, I definitely take your opinion into consideration but I still think that there is such a thing as tactfulness. Ever since he became more famous, he has certainly become more..lets say..aggressive! Don't get me wrong, I am still a big fan but I don't think it is necessary to ever speak to anyone in such a manner! Of course I lose my temper at times, but I have the ability to curb my words and anger a little bit better than that...Would you want to be screamed at like that? I know that I wouldn't! Thanks for your input at any rate!

| caseycarmen (72) | 11 months ago | thank u for your comment, all i can say is,nobody really know what kind of person bale really is except himself,Is he become more aggressive due to fame?or it's just who he is.i can't tell, and I'm sure you can't and btw,NO,i don't ever wanted to be treated that way,and I swear to god,if someone ever talk to me like that.I don't care if he's Tom cruise or Marlon Brando or kiss my butt,i would fight back....or maybe it's just me..

Too bad i missed "The Machinist". I really don't know the buzz behind Christian Bale's personality offcam so i cannot really comment about it.

6. neolanzer (22) | 10 months ago | I don't think the fame has gone to his head. I believe that he just takes his job very seriously. Have you heard his apology with regard to his Terminator set rant. He offered no excuses. It's the art that's important to him. Even during interviews when he promotes a film, he refuses to discuss anything else other than the film.

mibngold (1525) | 10 months ago | Hi..I think I may have spoken too soon...So..I agree with you! I watch just about every movie that I can find that stars Christian Bale & I am a big fan. I didn't even know who he was when I watched "Shaft" 50 times & then I started to watch every movie he's in! So, I apologize to you, him & all of his fans! Thanks you!
