Has Anyone Here Tried Building Your Own Computer?

i have built my own computer
but not from scratch!
i just had a case!
so i got a screen and mouse and keyboard and put them all together i haven't tried putting the inner stuff together yet!
but it's a start!

All my computers were build by me. I want to choose my components to test them my self and to get the best of them. i always overclock them to there limit.
of course if you dont know much about hardware and what is compatible with what then you cant do it or you will do it wrong.
as for the cost they always are cheaper than the one built by the companies.
first you have to figure out what do you want to do with this pc and then figure out which are the best components for your goal and then start downgrading until you reach your budget.

Yes I have built a computer it was a while ago, back in 98 or 99. the system cost me about 700 to build. at that time. not including a monitor

I just finished my second custom built computer. You just get more bang for the buck when you do it yourself. My current computer is an evga 780i sli with a core 2 duo 3.0Ghz wolfdale, I have 8 gig in ddr2 800 made by G.Skill, 3 gtx 260 core 216 superclocked, 1 97 gig 15000 rpm hd, and 2 TB drives, Also a Thermaltake case, This rig cost me about a grand however its worth it. Right now i just sit in front of my computer and it talks to me.

i have also built a pc myself but haven't done so for a while now. u do have to have some idea of what u are doing in assembling the parts and knowing what will work together and what won't so u don't end up spending money buying parts that won't work with each other. i am planning to build another one though right now i have a laptop.

I know how to build computers.
Building your own computer is probably the cheapest way to get a computer.
But it requires much more effort.
You also get the flexibility of chosing the components yourself.
The brand computer like Dell, charges for the branding, styling, warranty and other things that aren't there when you build your own computer.

Generally a PC Tower would need these components:
-Case
-Power Supply Unit (PSU)(Sometimes included with a case
-Motherboard
-CPU (Central Processing Unit)(Example: Intel Core 2 Duo)
-RAM
-Graphics Card (If your motherboard doesn't have integrated graphics)

I really think you should go and try to build a computer! I first was interested in building my own computer in late 2005. I was only 15 at the time. I researched on the internet and found lots of information on a website called pcmech! You can find good information on building computers there, or just do a google search and find things. Anyways, my first build was in the summer of 2006. I was assisted by this guy named Tom who is the father of my brothers best friend. It wasnt actually that hard. I invested about $1400 for my custom build back then. I ended up getting a decent gaming computer, but of course it isnt so decent by todays standards. Anyways, good luck to you if you decide to pursue this hobby!:) I just thought I would let you know that just about anyone can do it!

Well building a Pc from scrath is not that hard

-Buy a computer casing
-Before you buy u need to know what is the main usage for the pc you built
Gaming or common use.
-Read the mainboard manuals.
-Pick your own main board consideration of ramslots,built in graphic,how many PCI slots,AMD or Intel Processor
-buy Ram 4gb DDR2 is dirt cheap now
-500Gb Hdd
-Dvd Writter
-Graphic Card
-a flat and philps head screwdriver.The Flat head screw driver is mainly to fit the processor heat sink.

Building your own PC is the way to go...you can choose your own hardware according to your budget.

It's more like building a lego set actually...putting them together one by one until you have your own monster RIG..^_^
