To be fully honest with you, InfiniteN, I'm not as knowledgeable about anime as I would want to. I don't even know if my favorite--Akira--is really an anime or, to be more specific, a space anime. That said, I really want to check out the space anime you've enumerated because they seem really intriguing. I've heard of Cowboy Bebop before but I haven't had the chance to check it out yet. Hopefully, one of these days, I would.

Among your list i only know about cowboy Bebop.Its an awesome anime.The space cowboy rocks with his Bruce lee moves and awesome gun fights....

Space anime...? Uhmm... I would say Outlaw Star though I haven't finished watching it, basically, I like the story. I like watching anime. Among my favorites are Death Note, One Piece, and Full Metal Panic. Those are really good ones.

I couldn't really get into Outlaw Star, but I love Cowboy Bebop. It has to be one of the best Anime's out there.

Those are all some pretty good series. Let's not forget the Gundam series. The storyline is a bit on the darker side but they are also really good. You have the serious Zeta Gundam as well as Mobile Suit Gundam. There's Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny that is full of drama and romance. For lighthearted Gundam series, there's G Gundam and ZZ Gundam. If you're looking for realistic, there's Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team. So overall, a wide variety to choose from.

But some of my other favorite anime series that takes place in space are Irresponsible Captain Tylor and Infinite Ryvius. If you're a fan of Nadesico then you should also like Captain Tylor. The main character, Tylor, can be referred to as a lucky goofball or even a genius. He seems to be able to get out of any situation. Plus, he has a crazy crew, it's almost similar to Nadesico. Infinite Ryvius is more like "Lord of the Flies" that takes place in space. The series might not be for everyone though.
