Boycotting Chris Brown's music!  

here in the uk they do this all of the time as it is seen to bring bad publicity on the radio stations if they are seen to be promoting the work of someone not wanted as a role model for our children, i understand your point though, if they are going to ban his music they should ban all who have committed a crime and also it hasnt been proved yet, what ever happened to innocent untill proven guilty, the media have already convicted and hung him by all accounts

I haven't heard of any radio stations in my area boycotting Chris Brown music. I do not think boycotting the music is right. By playing his music doesn't mean that the station agrees with what he allegedly did. People who like him are going to continue listening to his music, so the stations shouldn't ban it.
Like you said, there have been other artists who have been in the spotlight because of dumb and stupid things they have done, and their music wasn't boycotted.

Hey kats! I have to agree with you on this! I don't think that
what Chris Brown did was right, but I don't feel that the radio
station has the right to boycott his music either. As you said,
they play music by artists that have done alot worse things in
their lives, like R.Kelly. I don't remember if at the time when
he had all his trouble if the radio stations stopped playing
his music, I don't think they did! It isn't their call to do
so! If that was the case then they would have no music to play
since most of the artists have, as you said been busted for
drugs, gun possession and who knows what else! Playing their
music should have nothing to do with what they've done! I
understand that people are angry about what Chris Brown "allegedly"
did to Rihanna, but that is between them and the law!

well i think the key word here is allegedly...Its America you are supposed to be innocent until provem guilty...but It is the right of the radio station to do what it feels is right

I think I remember a radio station around here refusing to play anything by the Dixie Chicks after their Bush remark several years ago. I don't know if it lasted long or not.

I think it is silly for them to ban Chris Browns music no matter what it is he did. They did not ban Britney after she endangered her son Sean Preston's life by driving with him on her lap.

I agree that if Chris Brown did assault Rihanna that it was wrong. I don't feel that it is a reason to boycott his music however. I mean, come on, look at the things a whole lot of other artists have done. Did they boycott their music? Britney's been in rehab how many times? Like you said too, R. Kelly, Whitney Houston, Snoop Dogg, how about Akon? I've heard things on so many other artists that I think this is just ridiculous! I'm sorry, but if I were you, I would start a boycott to boycott the radio station!
