Have you ever made up a lie in order to get out of something?  

I wish I could say I never lied to get out of something, but I think we all have at some point in our lives. It is a necessary evil. I sometimes tell a fib to get out of going somewhere like a party that i don't want to go to. I just don't like hurting someones feelings, so if it is a harmless lie, I'll do it!

No i have never ever told a lie.

I have to go now as a pink meteorite landed on my partners head and she now has a migraine.

for me not that I can remember doing. as for my daughter she will pretend to be sick to stay home. Then I will catch her playing something or watching movies. I will than strip her clothes out of her closet. That taught her a few times about telling a lie.

Yes I have for the same reasons or I'm tired or what ever. Like my hubby likes to shop and I hate it with a passion and I hardly ever want to go because he likes to look at this and that which drives me crazy. I like to go in and get what ever it is that I need and get out. My mom said that my brother should've been a girl and I should've been a boy. lol

Don't blame you for not wanting to be out in the cold. Yes I have lied to get out of going somewhere. I have a bad back and sometimes I am just beyond miserable. I had a family wedding shower about a year ago and explained I wouldn't be there because my back was in horrible shape and the pain was unbearable. Well, that's not exactly the truth. The truth is I didn't want to go. It was a part of my husband's family I don't know very well. Just wanted to stay home so I did. My back was hurting but not to the extent I lead everyone to believe. I was a bad girl..lol

I hated my job before last so much that the thought of dragging myself in to work made me lay in the bed and whine. So I'd struggle through the week and call in sick on a Friday, so I could have a long weekend...even better if the following Monday was a holiday! Human Resources eventually waved the white flag of surrender and unofficially declared that a portion of our sick days could be used as "mental health" days...to be taken without having to explain why you were not coming in! Yippee!

Who hasn't? I can't tell you right off when I last told a lie to get out of going somewhere or doing something, but I know I have. I'll just say my head aches, or I don't feel good in my stomach and that will get me out of whatever it is. Most of the time the thought of getting out and doing something makes me uncomfortable anyway.

i hear ya about going ice fishing like that. i wouldn't want to do that either. burr. so what did you tell your hubby that you weren't going to go along with them to ice fish? but i would also go fishing anytime as well on a nice beautiful day. but yeah, i guess that in the past before if something would come up that i didn't want to go do as well, but not like going ice fishing thou, lol, i would also have a good excuse as why that i couldn't tag along. a headache and not feeling well works wonders sometimes. or other plans that i might have happened to have myself and therefore i couldn't be at two different places at the same time. lol but i do not blame you for not tagging along like that to go ice fishing. you can stay home this afternoon and cook a nice dinner for your hubby when he gets home from being out in the cold like that.

I wouldn't be going ice fishing either, even if I had to lie through my teeth to get out of it! I do tell the occasional little white lie, I've played sick a few times to get out of stuff, but I try to be careful with it. I make sure it's something the can't come back on me later and try to make it so no one will find out I fibbed. I also try to keep the lies to a minimum. Sometimes even little white lies can hurt people.

haha.. actually yes. i prefer it to hurting people's feelings. and i never cancel plans like that, just because that is just plain mean and flaky. I only do it when i am initially declining something.
