Potty training a little boy. |
|
I have 2 children. My daughter is 6 and my son is 2. I would have to say potty training my daughter was pretty easy. Now I am trying to potty train my son, and he wants no part of it. I have tried standing him up, sitting him down, I have even tried the aiming at a cherrio thing. If anyone has some advice, I would be greatly appreciative of it. For now, we will just keep encouraging him.

2. kareng (3590) | 10 months ago | I have only raised girls so I can't speak from experience, but my daughter has a 2 year old son and he is not interested either. I think boys are harder to train from what I've heard from other friends and family members that have both. It just takes a little longer with boys and the key is to be patient! Try rewards and make up silly songs. Anything to keep it interesting for him! And stay patient!

SO you can try taking other young parents' help in your family and friend circle. I do not have much experience with this parenting thing but I guess making potty noises will help your child, also try to stick to a schedule so that the boy will then automatically get into the habit.

4. lilnono (184) | 10 months ago | I have 2 young boys and I found both of them somewhat difficult to train. What helped me was keeping a chart of when they ate drank and used the bathroom and having them sit on the potty when I thought they were about to go. If they happened to get something in the potty I made a huge deal of it and congratulated them. I also had them watch a lot of movies and read them a lot of books about using the potty. another thing you can do is take him in the bathroom with you every time you go. make sure you give him plenty to drink so he'll have plenty of opportunities for success.

| 5. Felicialessard1 (52) | 10 months ago | I have 2 boys myself. My oldest son was the easiest to potty train. We did the whole Cheerio's thing with him and he even made shooting noises, which was hilarious. We sat him backwards on the toilet to help with the aiming and then he stood up to potty on his own. My youngest, on the other hand, is a little harder. He tells us when he has to go and even puts the toilet seat up and down for mommy and flushes the toilet but it's not all the time. The best advice is be patient, he will go when he is ready. Let him watch daddy potty, that will show him how to do it. Just keep encouraging him and routing him on.

6. rsa101 (7341) | 10 months ago | We started teaching our son to pee like girls do since he was not able to stand on the toilet and shoot and aim so we have to carry him and help him seat there and learn to pee there. He started becoming conscious of it when I as the father would try to bring him with me when I am peeing. Pretty uncomfortable for me the first time but then for educational purposes I did show him that. Eventually he peed like me when he was able to stand in front of the bowl.
