Is MyLot Under DoS Attack?  

it seems to be a lot quicker than it was an hour ago now so hopefully what ever it was is fixed

It appears that things are back to normal. A DoS attack is a possibility but, since there have been some security problems recently, my guess is that MyLot were making some security changes and that this involved limited access to the database for a while. I am hoping that that is the explanation, anyway.

I don't know much about internet attacks and didn't know what a DoS attack was until you explained it (which by the way, was a smart move you made when starting the discussion). However, like you, I have noticed how slow mylot has been and am wondering what is going on. It could be a DoS attack, especially with all those banned members wanting revenge as well as new users joining everyday. The population of mylot has dramatically increased over the past few weeks. I think the mylot team are working on it. And by "it," I mean they are probably finding a way to fix the server and such. I think the site is using all of its resources as it has grown very large over the years. I'm sure they will fix it soon. But it might take some time. So do not worry, mylot will be back up and running sooner than you expect.

i think two or three hours ago, myLot really loads so slow that's why i didn't continue to explore myLot for discussions and i don't know what's happening though! but now, as compared two/three hours ago, i think it is a little less slower.. anyway, whatever this may be i also hope they will fix things out as soon as possible.. hehe..

Hmm, chinese and indians are pretty good with computers right? And i think they're frequent here. Hehe.. Not blaming them or something ok? Well myLot has been usually slow but these past few hours was extraordinarily slow and sometimes an error message appears. It's almost the end of the month and people are cramming to reach the payout. Hmm...

Thanks for the info ,for a moment there I though you meant DOS as in disk operating system (if my memory serves me right ) so I was a little confused as to hwo this could be .
I have noticed how slow my lot isbut I am hoping that it gets better as we go along I am behind and would welcome the opportunity to catch up today on my posting.
It would be sad though if former member are sabotaging the site when they know they violated the site ,people today just dont want to accept resposibility for their actions

It's up & running as usual now!~ And I though I was the only one having that problem!~ I was wondering since it's the end of the month, could be heavy traffic? But you have a very good point there

I seen that , I think that my connection is very slow but all other sites are working fine then i seen the discusion related to mylot , that may be server down of the mylot , i seen this situtation first time, since yesterday , i joined yesterday only so don't know much about it , i think there is DOS attch may be mylot id upgrading thier system so they things are down and mylot shoult give notice to their use regarding this. so that new user like me never worry about that.

is posting here really slow? i don't know if it just me but i have a dsl connection and when i post a long message the page loads really sloooww. does mylot base on the length of the post of the user?

I thought this problem i had only in India.
But only through this discussion, i came to know that this problem had existed in all parts of the world..
Anyway, the problems had been solved now..
