Good samaritan gets jaywalking ticket!  

I think sometimes people are just following the rules without taking in the situation. Situation are meant to be taken into consideration when consulting the rules. I think the State Trooper shouldnt have issued the citation. This bus driver was just being a good man and doing what any good people would do, which is helping two ladies in danger! Think about it : Save 2 lives and break a little jaywalking rules or Do nothing, get no citation, and basically watch 2 lives taken away ?

With the way our society is, I could just imagine the truck driver making a formal complaint to the police if they did not write a ticket to the jaywalker. Maybe the policeman did it because it is part of procedure and because it was an accident with injuries. That means the insurance companies are now involved. That's another whole headache. As soon as there is an injury everyone starts going over paperwork with a magnifier to look for loop holes and put the blame on someone else.

I do hope the ticket was not too costly.

may be nobody told the trooper about what really happened, where were the elderly ladies when the trooper arrived? they should have explained to the trooper what really happened. is it normal to issue a ticket to an unconscious person when he could not explain himself? aren't you supposed to get the person's side of the story first?
