How organized are you? email this discussion to a friend?

myLot reputation of 96/100. leonelaphotography (922)   ranked 3 out of 168 in email10 months ago

Some people just delete everything in their email. Other people just keep everything. There are still another group that is even more intriguing.

Do you organize the email you receive? By this, I am referring to creating folders for specific recipients.

Do you use the filters provided to make sure you can find a particular email later?

I personally am a neat freak and I have folders for everyone. I keep most of my emails and only delete those I deem unnecessary.

i am not a neat freak, but i try to organize my email as much as possible..i create folders so i can transfer all the emails i still need on those folders..then i delete the rest that i dont need anymore..most of it are unsolicited emails like spam and surveys...

with having folders i can easily archive my emails and if i need it one day, i can also easily retrieve them..

Thanks for your input! Folders definitely make things easier.

I fall in to that nicely organized bunch, I like to know where my things are. I check my mail in the morning and read what needs to be read, delete which has made it threw my spam and then file it. Funny, as it may seem, that's my rountine with my mail. lol

Well, when it comes to Email I personally use Incredimail. Since you can Create your own Folders in there for all of the different people, or Yahoo groups that I belong too, this makes it really great. I even have all of my Email from myLot friends, etc. coming into different folders as well. This helps to where it is easier to delete the SPAM emails I get, etc. as well.

I do everything of each one when I have nothing else to do. But most of the time i just let em pile up. It's a good thing they added more storage space, otherwise I wouldn't be able to recieve any mail anymore with the ton of it. lol.

Yeah, the most popular ones now offer huge storage space. Yahoo is unlimited!

Oh dear, I'm a misery when it comes to organization. I just don't organize like on purpose. If I do organize that's because I'm in the mood. But I don't also clutter a lot. I clutter but not a lot! I can't even organize my thoughts sometimes.

I do make an effort to make a to-do list just so I can map my activities out.

With regards to emails, I just leave them as they are. I don't get a lot of emails anyway except those that come from mylot.

I use to check my mailbox thrice a day atleast and delete the messages which I see unnecessary. So,my inbox will remain with few messages only and that too will be deleted in the course of time when I see it no longer necessary.I never leave my mailbox as a dungen of unread messages.Cheers!

I don't like leaving a dungeon of unread messages either! LOL

I have folders and subfolders of subfolders, lol, and not just for my emails. I organize all computer files this way because eventually you just get too many of them to scroll through lists.

As for email, I delete whatever I don't need, save what I deem savable and stick stuff in folders so I can find it later when I want it. The email filters only go so far, like the so-called popup blockers.

myLot reputation of 96/100. leonelaphotography (922)   ranked 3 out of 168 in email  9 months ago

That is true! I think it's really good that you organize your computer files. I like to do that too and then I send shortcuts to my desktop for the ones I use the most.

I made different folder in mail ID. I classify different mail and save them in different folder. And generally I delete all other mail which is not useful.
