A telephone directory book, really?

look at a telephone directory book? I can't remember the last time I used one. When searching for a phone number of a company or restaurant, or any shops I would just look for it in the internet. I dont really use the directory.

I think, when I was in teens those came in quite handy! We friends used to be pranksters and the head of us would find out numbers to do pranks calls. It was fun time until we got caught by my mom! After that I have not have a glance of it....

With the advent of computers and latest technology, use of telephone directory (specially paper back edition is getting minimal). Now a days information is available over the internet and on Compact Discs. Moreover, many have started using mobile phones. At our place or say city, no directory of mobile phone holders are compiled. Therefore, the use of telephone directory has come to naught, I also do not use it.

What are you talking about, find something? I use them for the purpose intended. Propping things up, to stand on when I need to reach something, etc.

when was the last time that i looked in a telephone directory book like that? yesterday morning to be exact. i am in need of finding a local Dentist that i can afford to go to and after several telephone calls, i finally found an affordable Dentist that i can go see. and i did find the telephone number for the Dentist that i am going to go see from the telephone directory. my eleven year old son loves to wear the telephone book out, lol, he likes to call around to different game shops here in town to see what a price for this or that may be. and lots of times if i am uncertain of what time that a store or a restaurant will open like on the weekend or something like that, i will grab the telephone book and look up the number and call the store to see what time that they open. i also use the telephone books lots if i am in need of something and i will call the store first to see if they have the certain item that i might be looking for instead of driving there and them not having what that i wanted to buy.

I usually use the telephone directory when I call a store or restaurant and I want something delivered to my home. I don't have the brain to memorize all the numbers in the yellow pages, so that's the time that I use such directory.

I don't remember ever using a telephone book to find something. I guess no one wants to flip through pages anymore when you can always "google" something. LOL

I seldom use the telephone directory. But it's free and now that my phone service provider are charging their customers for every phone number inquiry, I think I need the books at home. I don't want to pay $0.005 just to know the number of a company or institution or people I want to call.

I use one about once a month. The problem is that where I live we do not get just one. Last year there were 10 delivered to my house. Yuck!!
