Those annoying Stickers On Vegetables At Stores!  

I don't think I have had that problem with fruits or vegetables. It seems like the little stickers that are on some of them come off real easy. Now I don't want to get started on toys for kids at Christmas time that have stickers on them that are impossible to come off.......dang, where does Santa get those toys, I thought the elves made them? hahaha

I don't like them either. I usually forget to take them off and when I cut a vegetable I'm more than likely to find it in the stew or whatever I'm making!

I do like them, though, since I prefer self checkout and they save me the time of looking up the item.

I hate them too. It reminds me that the price of produce has gone so high through the roof that they have to put a sticker on everything. And when you cut them up for salads, mix the greens all up, there is this piece of green or red pepper or a bit of a tomato with half the sticker on. I mean soon someone is going to eat some paper.

I've had a little apple skin rip off but none of the fruit really. They're annoying but I can live with the silly things.

I never thought of it but I hate those damn things too, once I made something and piece of the damn sticker that I didn't see beforehand was in the food.

I read a book from this woman, and it was about her life and the things she had gone through. She told about one time when for some reason she got the idea to take one of those fruit stickers off a banana she had purchased, and stick it inside of one of her husband's shirt collars. Well, the day he wore that shirt, he came home and didn't say a thing. The next day she felt something itchy on the inside of the tag of her skirt. She pulled her skirt around to find that her husband had put the sticker on HER skirt. And this went on for weeks before one of them finally gave in and mentioned it.

You are right they are supposed to be there for the cash register as there is supposed to be a UPC code on the little stickers. However I never see the cashiers at the stores I go to scan the tomatoes or other fruit. I do not peel off the sticker until I am ready to use it. I do not know why I do this but I guess it would save doing what you did and then damaging the tomato or fruit. When I am ready to use I wash it and remove the sticker at the same time.

I confess though on having neglected to remove a sticker or two and find a neatly sliced label in my salad.

I HATE stickers on fruit and veg. although I haven't torn the skin from the produce when removing sticker I hate having to remove fiddly stickers before washing and preparing/eating the fruit and veg! xxx

I always have had that problem!! And it's more annoying when just the sticky part stays and the top layer pulls off only. But when I was a cashier, and there was a new type of produce in without the numbers, it was frustrating to go search the code and price, etc.

Why do they put stickers on the tomatoes anyway, can't they just stick the label on the package.
