Thanx...that is pretty much what my daughter said. I actually have the bottle done except for the final glaze which I'll do tomorrow. After that it is done...if she doesn't like it...someone will. It looks good as is. It is for her own personal use and not a gift so I can just do another if this isn't what she wants...she'll just have to wait. How desperate could anyone be for an incence burner..right? You'd actually be surprised...I do get requests that need to be done...next day..NOW! Thankfully, I have a great partner and she works her real job opposite from mine and we can do these sorts of requests...usually.

Oh, Mechanic...to answer your other questions...Yes, the customer matters a lot. She wants it this week and I won't be seeing her and my bad....didn't get a phone #. As for if she cares....I don't know. My personal opinion is that the dates would be a cool added touch...then again, I thought the dancing bears were too so I 2nd guess myself.

Ok so I finished it up...opted to leave it with just the pic. If she wants more added on then I can do that but can't take it off without wrecking it. I am actually packing to move in the next week so I'm not even going to mention this to her and hope she just likes the final product. So tomorrow morning i'm packing up all my craft stuff until the big move. Oh and mechanic...all of my curiosity had to do with pleasing my customer...it's very important. I guess I was just taking sort of a vote as the artist in me doesn't always appeal to everyone. I wanted to make it "special" for her but was afraid of disappointing her. Doesn't matter...I did it exactly for what she asked.

I sorta figured that MYKL, but I wanted to make sure.
Anyway, Sid, what about that picture of the thing? How about it? BEFORE you give it up!! I'm curious.

you are so cute! It was a close up of Jerry Garcia....great smile just shortly before he passed. I did opt to leave off the dates and as I knew if she wanted that...i could add it. Well, she picked it up tonite....and absolutely loved it! I told her what I wanted to do and she was glad that I did not add to it. I should have listened to my gut....the mere fact that I was questioning this should have been my clue that deep down, I already knew the answer.

Thanx Anora!I wish I could take a pic and show you...it actually was a cool bottle and other's thought so too. Its ok...that just means it will sell....to someone. I'm not taking a loss and my main goal is to have the customer happy. This one is very picky and I could tell that by just the way she described how she wanted the paints blended etc.....I do them different each time! She isn't a jerk or anything so I think she is just particular about things. geez...I only charge 6.00.

I'm actually doing quite well with these things and I look at it as advertising and getting it out there. If you burn incense...you'll love it! I started making them for myself and then family & friends and it just kind of took off from there...it was not a planned thing at all. I enjoy working on them so it is not a loss or very often even frustrating to please a customer. I just tend to 2nd guess myself and I really wanted to get it right for this lady and I could tell she was very particular. I wanted her to love it. Well anyway...let me know...I'm dead serious on this.

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you until today lol. I wasn't ignoring you, I do my responses in the morning (trying to find my schedule in between the things I do). I'd love to see pictures. I'll send you a quick pm in a few. That's a good price for an incense burner. Heck, I've paid a great deal more. I just bought a dragon one which is metal for a bit over 20. And yes, we burn a ton of incense so having one more would be very cool. And the hubby loves Jerry too!!

I know. I ended up giving it to just as is and opted not to add anything extra. It worked out well as she loved it. I told her it'd be easy to add on if she wanted but she did not. She wanted just a good close-up pic of him and that's what she got.

That's good she liked it. It's hard when you want to express your artistic ability and have to hold back. Maybe you can make another just how you want to. Oh..I have a stuffed doll of Jerry Garcia. I love the Grateful Dead.
