ANTM asks for shorties - it's about time!  | |  During the premiere of the 12th season of Top Model, Tyra advertised that they are looking for shorties for the 13th season! If you are 5'7" and under - they want YOU.
I'm 5'4.5" so I have always been frustrated with the idea that tall girls were always the stars of the show and short girls were considered less appealing just because they were shorter.
So what do you think? Do models have to be 5'9 or do short women look just as beautiful? Personally I get tired of tall models in clothing magazines because they usually have way longer torsos than me so the clothes never look the same on them as they do on someone shorter. Shorter girls have different measurements - so it would be nice to see more short girls mixed in with the tall girls in magazines.

I'm glad the shorties are getting a chance finally. I'm only about 5'2. Kate Moss is a short model and look how successful she's been! I guess we'll see how successful the winner becomes, I don't ever see the previous season's winners anywhere though.

I don't think Top Model makes the winners famous, but instead gives them a few Cover girl commercials and I think other than that they do low-end modelling gigs. I guess it is still a good prize for them b/c of the $100,000 contract and that they get to learn and build their portfolio. I think a lot the stuff they do is stuff we would never see like small runway shows and small advertising.
Anyway, Shorties can be just as attractive as these taller ones so I am glad they are mixing it up next season! I also said in the past they should do a "plus sized" show but now that they choose a plus sized person as a winner, I don't think they will. Shorties is good enough for me:) | |

I wanted to be on that show soooo bad like a year ago. But when I saw you the height requirement, I was like F it.
I haven't really followed ANTM recently, but it just looks like it's getting boring.
