now i understand why.... |

Today is the Sabbath so I keep the day of rest and obey the 4th Commandment to keep the Sabbath holy. I prayed before opening my Bible that God gives me the understanding that I need when I read. Lately, I have changed my ways of eating and not eating foods that are carnivorous and the cleaners of Mother Earth like pigs that eat anything that is dead and their digestive system is made so that they can eat anything without killing them as God made it that way. Even though farmers give them the best food..their system is still not made to produce meat on their bones for human consumption and that is why we can have the killer worms even if the pigs are fed good feed. I read in the newspaper warning elderly people from 60 up not to eat pork because it was dangerous for the elderly. I started to read in the first book of Matthews and came upon where Jesus was exorcising the demon possessed people with just a*word* (I know that it takes hours for depossessing people by a human) and in Matthew 8: v28 is written that when Jesus got to the other side, into the country of the Gad-a-renes, there met him two demon-possessed men coming out from among the memorial tombs, unussally fierce, so that nobody had the curage to pass by on tha road. V: 29..And look! they screamed saying; "What, have we to do with you, Son of God" (even the demons knew Jesus was the Son of God) Did you come here to tormetu us before the appointed time?" (so the demons know there is an appointed time when they will be destroyed) V30: But a long way off from them a herd of many swine (pigs) was at pasture. V31: So the demons began to entreat him saying: "If you expel us, send us forth into the herd of swine."V32: Accordingly he said to them:"Go!" They came out and went off into the sine; and, look! The entire herd rushed over the precipice into the sea and died int the waters." So it came to me that Jesus would not have allowed the herders to lose their entire herd if it had been edible meat. If it had been an animal that God made for human consumption, Jesus would not have allowed the herders to lose all that money for an entire herd is not just 3 or 4 pigs!Even in Jesus times people did not listen and obey the laws of consumption of forbidden meats and sea creatures. I understood that God did not want to deprive us of eating but to protect us from dying and getting diseases. Would any of us eat the content of our vaccum cleaner? Yuuuuuk I don't think so..so if God says not to eat certain animals on earth, in the sky and in the sea, it's for a good reason..they are the vaccum cleaners of Mother Nature!
It's so simple to understand once you ask God to open your mind to make you understand..so for sure I will never again eat anything that is a vaccum cleaner!

I agree that the Law says not to eat pig, and so if you follow the Law then do not eat pork, but I would also want you to consider that when Jesus died on the cross He is all we have to follow to be saved, not the Law of the Old Testament.
I would also like to mention that what is right for one person to eat may not be right for another.
That being said I am glad that you have decided to take care of your body by watching what you eat, It is a matter that struggle with and so I am happy for anyone that chooses to do so.
Have a great day.

He could have let the swine live. It is also said not to give*your pearls* to the pigs..so that they don't trample on them and turn against you. Again the pigs were used.
We also use the term that ..men are just pigs. Or you eat like a pig. etc. so the pig is known as to be not a great animal but a dirty and full of worms and bacteria.
I'm sorry the Law of the Old Testament was not abolished since Jesus followed every law and Commandment. Therefore to be saved we must follow what Jesus did and he followed the Law of the Old Testament and followed every feast.
You're saying what is right for one person may not be for another..of course if you don't follow what God said to do..then everything is right for you.
Therefore, if I follow God's Laws then whatever I thought was right for me and wasn't I must change so that I am found righteous in God's eyes.
Christianity did not abolish pagan ways but adopted them and also put in traditions of men.
So one has to ask oneself..am I following God's Laws or traditions of Men? I rather follow what is written than risk my life because God is the same yesterday and today and nothing has changed in what He said we must do.
I find what is written in the Old Testament says that whatever law God inspired..is always written for every generation to come..for eternity in many cases. Therefore if He said for every generation.then our generation and the next and the next must follow. No where is it written that when Jesus died on the cross any law was abolished..if he followed them to his death..then us also must follow the same.
The Passover was a feast that Jesus followed and we still do it today..there are 52 feasts that Jesus followed and that man has instead of following them adopted pagan rites instead.
Example..the virgin mary & child..came from Egypt..they were celebrating that way before Christ was born and christianity just changed the names.

okkidokitokki (1387) | 9 months ago | Sorry if I made you mad. I was refering to 1st Corinthians when I spoke of something being right for one and not another. When the question was posed about eating meat sacrificed to pagan gods. My understanding is to not stumble your brothers and sisters in faith.
I did not mean to start anything. I'm sorry
Have a good day.

| Interdistibution1 (83) | 9 months ago | Sorry heheh..thought I was on the best buy discussion..well, for a long time we thought we could eat just anything and it is very logical that God would make scavangers to keep the earth clean and since not all is good for us to eat..example ..mushrooms..we can't just eat anyone..some are poisonous..therefore logical that some animals and sea are not good to eat.

| Interdistibution1 (83) | 9 months ago | ah considering 1 Corinthians..here is a good one that will back up about eating only the foods God gave us to eat..vers. 13. says: Foods for the belly and the belly for foods" but God will bring both it and them to nothing" Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord" and the Lord for the body."
So..our belly must eat only what is good for our body as our body belongs to the Lord. He is the Creator and He knows what is best for us..after all He created all things..right?

okkidokitokki (1387) | 9 months ago | I have to say that at first I thought I waould regret responding to a discussion about faith but now I am happy.
Thank you for the verse. I will have to pray and ponder the things you both have given me
