British soliders come home from war to protests |
|
England gave their returning soldiers from the war in Iraq a parade. Well as you can imagine the anti war people showed up and protested. Muslim activist groups held signs calling them "cowards", "murders", "terrorist" among other things. They even went to far as to declare the england government a terrorist organization. Well as you can imgaine this upset the people there to support the troops returning home. So tempers flared to say the least. I am hearing that muslim extremists are protesting more and more often in England.
What do you think about this situation. How should it be handled?

What I find most egregious about this whole mess is that any British citizen who chose to kick the living you know what out of those punk agitators would have been arrested and faced legal charges.
That the British government is protecting those pukes, over their own patriotic families who agree to make the ultimate sacrifice in an effort to serve their country, is beyond the pale.
How upside down must the world become before we put our foot down?

Someone there should have seen it coming but I'm assuming nothing was done because we all have to be politically correct...

lilwonders456 (1901) | 9 months ago | Well I do not know if there is much they can do. THey have freedom of speech so they are allowed to say it and protest. It is a shame they would act that way.

4. BCMike (3316) | 9 months ago | I really do try to respect the opinions of others. I really really do.
BUT I have had enough of this leftist filth doing this to the guys that are A) Folllowing orders, and B) Sincerely trying to help the common people of the middle east.
Under the guise of 'free speech', they filthy mouthed goobers are speading comments that can be taken as nothing more than hate speech. And can you imagine the freaking out there would be if anyone spoke like that to Muslim extremism and its various supporters?
It's enough and these people should all be charged with hate crimes.

lilwonders456 (1901) | 9 months ago | I do not know if they can be charged with a hate crime. But then I will be honest. I do not the laws of england very well.
I agree that free speech is important. Which is why I like the fact that I have the freedom to tell these protesters exactly what I think of them.

BCMike (3316) | 9 months ago | Under the Westminster styled parliamentary systems, you have no specific guarantee of any rights. Canada is under such a system. Rights are conferred at the pleasure of Parliament and are subject to it's wims. THAT is what I despise of our system here and precisely why I am trying to get elected so that if I do only one good thing before this life is over for me, this change should be it.

Unfortunatly,England has allowed far to many of these "immigrants"into the country and now they are taking over,Canada is probably the next highest bunch of idiots, then Australia,Notice the trend? All ex or present British colonies. My personnel beleif would be to allow the soldiers to bring their weapons whith them when they return, and if they face this kind of crowd, let them take care of them properly. Many Blessings from an ex-soldier.

9. urbandekay (4295) | 9 months ago | Whilst the actions of these Muslim lunatics is abhorrent, I must defend there right to peaceful protest.
To have freedom of speech, which is one of the things that makes us different from Muslim states means accepting that some will exercise that right in promoting odious views.
On the other hand, police video footage of the event no doubt now exists with images of all these extremists, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining.

You are right. At least the british government knows who they are now and watch out for them. England has had more terrorist attacks than we have.

10. skysuccess (2268) | 9 months ago | lilwonders456,
This is what it means by a country divided, having its' own internal strife and this is actually why and how the war on terrorism had never been won!
I mean let's face the facts, we have hotels that rejects soldiers in uniform from checking in, turn away from pubs and now this parade which in the first place should have been banned with these groups eradicated and taken to task. Extremist groups should never be allowed to thrive and exist - they just do not deserve a single bit of democracy and human rights!
That is why the Asians have always been conservative with being democratic and discerning as far as human rights is concerned. Frankly speaking, do you think and could ever consider that these extremist groups like the Al Quedas, Talibans, Mujahideens and the rest could deserve any decent democracy and rights to operate and exist? Have the majority at the parade ever had the inkling recall of all the innocent lives that were lost in the acts of terrorism i.e. 911, car bombings, the massacres, Mumbai massacre and etc..? Have they forgotten? Tsk! Tsk! Talking about absent mindedness and what a fatality here. The US and Euro counterparts may like to sneer and despise the likes of China, Singapore and etc., on their harsh governance and control of religion but if you would think more deeply into it - had there been any occurrence of terrorism by far? Beijing, hosted the 2008 Olympics and word has it that it would be the terrorist prime target of the year - what happened? Threat groups and factors were completely shut out with the media held back. Hard but measured controls were placed and done. Still there were threats from non terrorist factions - guess who? Yes, you got it the US and Europe counterparts who wanted to boycott the Games.
Fortunately, all of them woke up in time and remembered their very own spoken words that politics have no place in the Games and that they should not mix. But, look at what did China do? Harsh? Disrespectful? I don't think so and perhaps there's a grain of salt there.
Have a nice day.

lilwonders456 (1901) | 9 months ago | Well in my opinion I would rather be free and have to deal with terrorists than not be free and not have terrorist. That is too high a price to pay for my freedom.

skysuccess (2268) | 9 months ago | lilwonders456,
Robert Frost once said: “Freedom lies in being bold.”
Take care.
| |
|
|
lilwonders456 (1901) | 9 months ago | Yep which means I want to BOLD enough to NOT have the government control every part of our lives, thoughts and deeds. I want to be BOLD enough to live my own live on MY terms. I will be BOLD enough to be free. In my opinion governments like China are terrorist to their people. So you are just trading one type of terrorism for another.
