How do you celebrate?

Hi ersmommy, yes we celebrate St.Patrick's day with a wonderful dinner of corn beef and cabbage. Also, we watch a movie that we have called "Darby O'Gill and the Little People", because that is the only movie I have. Plus, we watch the parade on TV.

It's just another way for me to thank my great-great granddaddy for coming to America and starting a good lift for the rest of the family.

I'll have to hunt down some green for the kids to wear, sadly they don't own much of that color. We'll have the Corned Beef and Cabbage. Saturday is our parade and I might try to take the kids to it, we'll see. Otherwise it's just another day.

I am going to go up to Illinois next Saturday for my family's annual St. Patrick's Day party. It will be held at my late grandfathers house this year. I might do a corned beef ON the actual day though or go to my brother's house for dinner.

We don't do anything special for St Patrick's Day. It's just another day for us. Sometimes I wear green but that's about it. Someone gave me a cabbage. I may try cooking it with corned beef. Not sure yet. I've never cooked it before.

I am a recovering alcoholic with almost 18 years sobriety.
St. Pats used to be a HUGE day for drinking for me back then. Nothing more than that. Now that I don't drink, I may toss
on something green, but, that's the only way I celebrate it
so to speak. Just another day to me is all. No plans as it
is just dad and I as my wife works that day.
