Best time to visit New York... |
|
If you were planning a long weekend away with the family and decided that New York was the place that would fit in with all your needs... what time of the year would you go?...
there is summer time when you can walk in Central Park and sit around the fountain while it is running... or the 4th of July when they have there fireworks by the Statue of Liberty....
or would the fall time be better, just a light coat, stand outside the NBC building and try to be seen on the Today show... .... or Winter when you can visit all the shops and see the "big christmas tree" in Rockerfeller plaza.... or New Years Eve in Times Square???
so when would you go?

The fireworks at the Statue of Liberty would have to be an awesome sight. My grandsons just love to watch fireworks and the best ones we have seen so far have been at Disney. So that is when I would want to visit New York would be on the 4th with my grandsons watching the fireworks at the Statue of Liberty.

bookreadermom08 (1860) | 10 months ago | well thanks for responding... and I was there in the fall time, and it was nice, it was actually the end of sept... and we really enjoyed it, but I think I would like summer next time. We didnt have much time to visit central park...and that would be perfect in the summer.

If you go a second time I would suggest late summer to early fall. Then you can do the outdoor attractions like Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the new Yankee Stadium, etc. There will always be something to do in the city, so either way you will have a good time.

bookreadermom08 (1860) | 10 months ago | we were there in early fall... it was beautiful and we really enjoyed it, we got to see the empire state building, the statue of liberty and ellis island, and the museum of natural history... if we had more time we would have made it to central park... I would go back again in a heartbeat...it was great!!
thanks for the response.

4. NuttyMomma (651) | 10 months ago | Living in NJ and experiencing NYC in all the seasons, I would have to vote for either winter on a day where it isn't too horribly cold and definitely not windy or a nice day in the spring, again on a non-windy day. Summers in the city are humid at times and hot, humid days in the city are SMELLY!!!
