What are best survey sites and have you ever completed an OTX survey?

Sorry for the bad title, I wanted to fit it all into the box.
I'm so tired of OTX. I've started to automatically shut down OTX surveys. I belong to Opinion Outpost which used to be a VERY good survey site that paid me nicely but lately all they are offering are surveys from OTX. I got through at least 10 screens before I'm told I don't qualify and they get a LOT of information in that time! Once I thought: oh boy, I'm actually going to finish this and get paid! Only to be told after 25 minutes that I didn't qualify for the survey. What a ripoff!!
I want to know if anyone has ever completed an OTX survey. If so, how old are you? Are your married or single, do you have kids, how many cars, etc? I don't plan to lie, I would just like to know exactly what those darn people are looking for!!! I've read tonight so many negative comments on the net about OTX and not one positive comment--it seems they are universally despised.

I love your question! It really made me laugh! LOL! First of all, I don't think anyone has completed an OTX survey and whenever I get any in my inbox I just delete it. What a waste of time for me. I believe that one of the reasons I don't ever finish one is the fact that I don't have any children and don't have a car. There are other factors involved, but, those seem to be the main reasons.
My favorite survey site is Lightspeed. Their surveys are pretty regular and not that hard to complete at all. I also like NPDOR and Zoom panel. There are other survey sites I belong to, but, these are the most regular ones.

I find it strange that all the surveys are now asking your ethnicity and only give you 3 choices: Hispanic/Latino, Other, or Refused.

I don't like those OTX surveys either, I'm a member of several survey sites, and Opinion Outpost is one of them, I've noticed they are using the OTX surveys alot, and I don't ever qualify for them either, I think maybe once or twice I have, but thats it. Like you, I've gone about 25 mins. into the survey, and I think hey, maybe I've qualified this time, only for them to tell me I haven't, it gets annoying. I'm to where now, everytime I sign in to do a survey as soon as I see the OTX thing on the page I exit off, and it seems like those surveys are always the same ones, I don't know how many times I've answered the same questions..ha. Then I wonder well what kind of people are they looking for?

I don't think they're looking for anyone! I think they're just collecting as much information for free as they can then selling it to marketing people, the jerks! At least at Opinion Outpost you get a chance to win $50 in the instant game. Say Nation uses OTX, too, but at least you get points even if you don't qualify--and you won't!
Next time, I'm going to see if they want a young hispanic mother who makes $30K per year. I'm curious what type of people they will let finish their stupid surveys!

Thats what I was thinking, I'm going to start changing some of the answers I normally put on there, and see what happens. I can't complain tho, I did cash out on Opinion Outpost, and it didn't take long for me to get my check in the mail, I was surprised.

I am SO with you on getting irritated with online survey companies. I went up an age band a few months ago, and all of a sudden I'm encountering exactly the same as you. Pages and pages of screens, then they reject me. What I find really annoying is that those pages generally contain information which THEY ALREADY KNOW!!!! So why do I need to fill it in again? Grrrrrrrr!!!!

I'm very, very tempted to lie but it's not right and it'd be ill-gotten gains. You would think they would have the info on our demographics already filled out for the client but they seem very inefficient to me. Oh well, it's a few bucks but it can be irritating at times!
One of the respondents here got results by saying they were a young hispanic woman with kids and a van!

I have done various OTX surveys through other survey sites and been paid by those survey sites
The survey sites I use are all listed on my blog link on my profile page and you can check out the payments proofs

OTX pops up in a lot of surveys I'm given. Have you ever finished one? I never have, although I've spent a lot of time on one only to be told I don't qualify. I didn't see any survey sites on your profile, though, just inbox dollars and stuff.

I am sure I have completed the surveys and that's why was paid, the sites do not always use OTX but it pops up occassionally...Which survey sites were you using?

OTX must be fraudulent. I don't know a soul who has ever qualified for ANY of their surveys! I get them through MyPoints but NEVER ONCE have qualified for any of those OTX surveys.
I thought it was just me initially, but my son joined something and also gets OTX surveys, which HE never qualified for any of them, either! I'd LOVE to know what their gimmick is, since no one ever qualifies for them. Maybe their "targeted" audience is so rare, like a midget who has one blue eye, one brown eye, with red hair and a mole on their nose with not one but three hairs growing from it, they're ambidextrous and have 25 children!
If anyone can explain the unanswered question about why OTX never qualifies anyone for their surveys, I'll be a happy camper!
So, you're not alone, dragon.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, then. I think they're doing it to gather information for free. I'm going to just start rejecting any of their surveys, I have better ways to spend my time.

I agree, on both counts! I hadn't thought of that before but I bet you're right about them collecting information! They could very well be creating "lists" to sell to other sites!
I've started closing them down right away, too. They ARE a waste of time.

OTX does take forever, and you're totally right - Opinion Outpost almost ALWAYS sends you OTX survey invites. What's nice about OTX is that if you qualify and finish one, it usually pays at least $1 per survey. If you don't, though, you can end up wasting a BUNCH of time without earning anything.
I usually qualify for a good amount of surveys. I'm 18, with the zip code of 55418, with 3 cars in my household, single (never married), no kids, white, and so on. I've completed MANY OTX surveys, usually through Firehouse Offers (My Thoughts Count & AmpSurveys) or Treasure Trooper (or occasionally Opinion Outpost, too).
I don't despise OTX, but I think they could seriously make some big improvements in their overall system. They need to have a more efficient way of screening people, and they also need to NOT tell you that you've "pre-qualified" for a survey and then reject you from it thereafter (that REALLY bugs me). Ugh. I also don't like that you can usually only do a couple per day, and after that - they don't allow you to do anymore. It's also annoying.
But, I like doing them more than the Opinion Surveys, which usually pay less (although can be easier to qualify for).
Sigh. Oh online paid surveys.

I can hardly believe it, but I just completed an OTX survey through Survey Exchange!! I think this is a first for me! Have you been to Opinion Place? You can do a survey every 3 days and they pay a dollar. Dollar Surveys is also a good place!

I also belong to Opinion Outpost, (a great site by the way), and I too hate OTX! That damn OTX is slowly taking over ALL the good survey sites, I hate them so much! I have completed some of their surveys but not many. Any more when I see it is an OTX survey, I will delete it and totally refuse to do it! If we all get together on this and DELETE all OTX surveys, maybe the OTX people will shut down and stop sending them out! OTX surveys are the worst ones on the internet! Here's a hint about surveys: They want married people about 30 in age, 3 kids, a couple of cats and dogs, maybe a hamster, a home you are buying, 2 cars, usually leasing one of them and they should be fairly new, some collage, good job or homemaker and HISPANIC! This is what someone told me a year ago. I have tried some of this on some surveys and it workrd, I qualified!

Oh, no! You're not supposed to lie!
I've been tempted to lie, believe me. Not many companies care what a 54 year old divorced woman thinks or buys! I wonder why they want hispanics? I know they'll be the majority here soon, maybe that's it.
OTX won't shut down, it's getting too much money and gathering too much information. They get free demographic information and a lot of other info before they cut you off then they sell that to market research companies.

Hmmm, you always have your hands into so many thing! I wonder how you manage everything as for me if i sit infront of the computer i forget the rest of the world, which is not quiet good. If i am on the net i dont do the house work, which is kind of so irresponsible of me but i guess with time i too would learn how to manage things like you do. I am sorry this was not supposed to be the answer of your discussion but when i realsed how many things you do in a day and how less i do, i kind of thought of telling you"i feel so useless in front of you" :(

Don't feel that way!!
You have a son to take care of and a husband, that's a handful right there. Not to mention the housework and cooking.
I don't have much choice, there are no jobs here and I'm trying to make as much money as I can to supplement my living expenses. If I had a choice I would spend an hour a day on the computer and the rest of the time I would be working at a job or going to the art gallery, the movies, the park, or volunteering my time to a hospital or something.
We must never forget how blessed we are, no matter what our lives are like.

Here I thought I was the only one that OTX rejected 99.9 percent of the time. One time I was so frustrated that at the end when it asked me if I wanted to try and qualify for another survey, I said yes...and again and again...and then something happened....I qualified!!!!
I think there's only been 1 or 2 other times that a site sent me an OTX survey that I have qualified for. It is frustrating, but what can you do.
I'm with opinion Outpost, MySUrvey, and one more that i can't think of the name right now but it takes forever to cashout.

I'm with at least a dozen survey sights. I prefer the ones who pay cash but I'll do ones for points, too, for gas cards or such. I've NEVER finished and OTX survey, you are one for the record books!

I'm upset not because I just typed a long response and then something happen but anyway....OTX SUCKS big time. You spend 20-30 minutes answering question and then you end up not be qualifying and sometimes when you are in middle of a survey it freeze. There has got to be better sites out there for surveys. I read some negative comment tonight about them on surveypolice.com. Even though I haven't made payout with this survey sites I'm a member of :
Opinion Outpost
My Survey
Mindfield
E-Poll
Survey Savvy

I'm a member of all of those good ones! Have you joined Survey Spot? It's great, I make about $20 a month with them. Just type in the name and dot com. I don't get any incentive for referring you. I'm 54 but you're 22 and you are their prime demographic!! If you want to write articles for money, make a friend request and I'll send you my employer's email.
Have you tried Nielson Homscan? You can make giftcards there. Lots of good stuff out there but OTX is the PITS!!
