Antique Lovers - Which are your favorites?  |

|  When you think of antiques and you go into an antiquity store what are you most likely to appreciate the most?
When I go into one of these stores, what grabs my attention is the furniture! I love the oak finish. I actually have a preferred era, too. I really love and appreciate the items from the Victorian and Shakespearean era. Now if I were to look at wall furnishings I really like the Victorian and Edwardian.
How about you? What do you really like about antiquities?

| |  I love the history of the antiques and how the piece makes me feel-you know not only if the piece will fit in but if it fits with me. Does that make sense?
I love the portrait's of the 1800's and of course the "girly" stuff such as the silver work and early glass from the 1600's.

| | For myself personally it isn't even what the piece is worth in a monetary sense. The piece has to speak to me on that "personal " level.

| |  I wish I had more money to buy collectibles of famous people! I would most definitely have bought the belongings of Mahatma Gandhi and Tipu Sultant - that were in news recently.
I am great fan of Victorian and Elizabethan England. That way anything belonging to Shakespeare or Dickens or Tennyson would be just terrific!
