everything for nothing...  

Every one wants something for nothing. We are the same, decided to do a bit of a clear out and out stuff the in the Buy and Sell. The amount of calls you get offering you really low prices to what your asking.

If your not in a hurry to sell them, hold off, you will get a buyer eventually.

OMG, we did the same thing here.

Trying to sell DVD's for $2-$3, and someone wanted them all for $50 when there was at least $100 worth of them.

Trying to sell a tv for $35, got some offers but none serious.

It's not easy to sell things for the price you want for things.

Hi teetee195, I have been there! It something seems like they want something for nothing, and it just doesn't work that way. I had a entrenchment center that was 100% maple (It was very heavy) and on the right hand side were shelves to hold your VCR Tapes, (Want knots) it also had a Beautiful glass doors. I wanted one hundred dollar for it, and a women came and looked at and she only wanted to paid twenty dollars, I just had to turn her down. So I put everything into storage because I just could not give my stuff a way and we were moving into our studio Apt..

Hi teetee, if you're not in a hurry to sell your stuff, you can re-condition it so that customers will see enough reasons for the price. For furnitures, you can improve it by re-painting or varnishing. For old appliances, you can clean it, or if it's up-gradable... why not. Selling involves a lot of creativity. Aside from that, you can post your items in the internet or if you're in other social networking, you can take pictures of your items and sell it there; so you would have a lot of customers looking at your stuffs.

I have had my Maytag washer/dryer set for about 8 years myself. They were purchased brand new. Thing of it is.. my dryer just died, totally unexpected. Half way through a cycle it just stopped and wouldn't work again. My washer is now on it's way out too, and this is something that's just started within the past few days.

So after this experience, I would not be comfortable purchasing an 8 year old washer/dryer set, because you just don't know for sure how much life is left in it.

Considering the fact that it could die anytime, and may not have more than a couple years left... I'd settle for as low as $25 each to sell them.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $50 each.

i would have to see the stuff to really give a value to it. but you know how people are, every one wants something for nothing. and when you are doing something like a yard sale, oh boy all the cheap skates come out to buy! LOL good luck honey

I think you price for the table and chairs is a good one. It is too bad that everyone wants something for nothing.

Why don't you ask them to give you and offer. State that all offers will be looked at.

Sometimes the offer can be bigger than what you are asking for it.

If all else fails give the stuff to a charity.

We bought a old dryer years ago for $25.00. Check out a place that sells used appliances, and see what they are charging.

Also when selling make sure you put down Selling as is.

If the washer and dryer set is 8 years old. I would say that I would not pay more than $250 for the pair. I think that would be a good deal. This is because although they may look good and still work great, they are old. I think that a table and chairs for $25 is a good deal. You just have to remember what shape the economy is in is all and right now people are looking for anything CHEAP.
