A famous person says that "Histories mak men wise". It must be a wise guy! My father account Chinese histories to me when I was young.

It is so interesting but there will be two od maybe three generstions that won't study gistory until college, if even then.

7. thea09 (5099) | 7 months ago | My love of history started when I was a child and was lucky enough to have great history teachers which inspired me to read a lot too about history. My son learns the history of this country now at school and it is a major subject in the school which creates a great deal of national pride.

8. jlamela (2831) | 5 months ago | I love history and my favorites are European history, World Wars and why monarchy existed. I am always fascinated with history because every time I read historical books it seems I am taking a journey back to the past.
Yes, I am familiar with my country's history and glorious past, our country gone through difficult times in the past because of the struggle we endured during period of colonization. Philippines was colonized by Spain in 300 years, followed by America, these unrest prompted great Filipinos to raise arms to achieve freedom, first during the Dagohoy rebellion then the Katipuneros days headed by Andres Bonifacio.
Then during World War II the country was under Japanese tyrannic rule and left us battered until rescued by Americans. We were put under Martial Law during the Marcos dictatorship and suppressed freedom, it was only the assassination of Senator Ninoy Aquino that ignited the spirits of Filipino to fight the dictator, in 1986 we triumphantly regained our democracy through a peaceful power revolt called the people power which installed the widow of the slain Aquino, Cory Aquino into Presidency. It gave a new fresh air to our country.

9. Simon1223 (279) | 4 months ago | I also like to research history. In my view, we could learn a lot including gain and loss from history. They are precious experience which may help us predict the future. Looking back the history, human beings should have avoided some catastrophes if they had learned the lessons from history. For instance, history has repeatedly proved that war could not solve problems but create more. But up to now there are still some leaders who haven't learned such lessons.
