What things do you do to go green?

There is alot i do and alot im planning to do. Some you already listed like i buy drink mixes to make my own. I sometimes allow my child to go without a diaper to save diapers. I use rechargeable batteries. There is more but im cant think of everything. RIght now this is a big topic with my fiance and i. We are planning to build a house running mostly on solar power. We have all kinds of ideas to go green and save. Some seem kind of crazy but we are going to give it a try before saying thats just too weird.

some of the things I do to off set my carbon,

I recycle anything in the house that I can even clothes.

I sometimes buy second hand clothes if they are in good condition.

I collect rain water, and turn off my appliances at the plug.

I also grow various vegatables and also get my kids involved in that.

I also have energy saving lights and I now limit my flying to one holiday a year as used to have 3/4.

Just a few things that I do.

I turn off the lights and unplug the appliances(that aren't in use) to save electricity, i bring my own bags whenever i go grocery shopping, i try to recycle everything(from food to clothes), i use eco friendly products, i segregate my garbage, i don't litter on the streets, etc.. you know, climate change is very alarming.. we should help one another to save mother earth!

I recycle as much as possible too. Our town switched us from the standard blue box recycling to the large bin that is picked up by the recycling truck automatically. They switched to bi-weekly collection, though, instead of weekly and everything that you recycle HAS to be inside your bin. The driver will not get out of the truck and pick up extra boxes or anything... so, since I try to recycle everything possible, I find I sometimes have to struggle to get everything in the bin. OH! and they will leave your bin at the curb, too, if the lids do not close properly so no overfilling.

One other thing I do, besides what everyone has mentioned, is that I don't use plastic wrap or bags when packing my kids' lunches. Everything is in reusable storage containers. I find this has made a big difference in terms of cutting down on the waste.

I do the usual things like trying to switch off lights and always turning off things from standby. We also have a paper recycling bin which we use regularly, and we also sometimes try to recycle glass. Just generally trying to be more aware of the whole green thing

Switch of the lights when I am not in that room
Turn off the water while brushing my teeth
Wash my face at the sink...so my shower will be short, under 5 minutes
I buy organic cage free eggs
I always choose local produce when I can
I don't take excessive long drives, I walk to most places
I use energy saving light bulbs
I use viegar and baking soda for cleaning

Those are just some of the little things I do...but I don't recycle...oops.

the city where i live (here in canada) have limited green garbage bag output on garbage days to ONE bag per household! so we have no choice but to go green.
as for shopping, i have a lot of tricks and whatnot to save money:-) and have been doing so for years.

My mom planted a lot of plants in front of our house. I like it. Because it beautifies the house in front. And it is so relaxing to look at. It gives life and makes my house environmentally tune up.

I like to fill a reusable water bottle. If I do drink from a regular bottle, or soda can, I recycle them. Actually, I recylcle anything that is able to be recycled. I also take my own bags to the grocery store. If I do not have my bags with me, I make sure to recycle the plastic ones. Many grocery stores have a collection area for these bags. I turn my computer off when I am finished with it. I have also switched to energy saving light bulbs all around my house. When driving, I try to make all trips that I will need in that area at the same time.These are some of the things that I have done to go green.
