Does soduku really test how smart you are

Not necessarily.

Let's say one could converse well and be good with debates and arguements but, have a hard time trying to solve a rubik's cube.

The same goes with any other word puzzle, quizzes or that numerical puzzle sudoku.

Different people could be very smart in different ways after all and being smart is different with being intelligent.

I believe soduko is another form of mind game. Whether you are good at it or not, it doesn't mean you are dumb. There are things that we can do that applies with it which at some point could not affect your wits. I think it measures your logical thinking.

i don't think they test how smart you are they are very helpful in the sense of making you think and working your brain which in the long run helps you out.

Yes I believe that but I don't believe that your brain power are only limited only on those games you mentioned above. Not all people know this games. In your case find your expertise. Scientists said while a man grows older he must need a regular exercise including his brain to refrain from having older deceases like Perkinsons, Alchimers and so many more. To avoid this one we must exercise our brain by exercising it. How? There are plenty of it. Brain twisting games. One of those is you said soduku, well if you are poor on this try another more, like playing chess, solving puzzles, crossword puzzles and lot more that your brain can think about.

Don't make it stagnant because that would be the prime cause of forgetfulness.
