 So Wal-Mart is back to saying Merry Christmas but a few other retail giants are sticking sith Happy Holidays. Which do you think is correct? Give us your thoughts on the issue. Merry Christmas neighboreenos

| teddyscreations (56) | 4 years ago |  Many of the traditions of Christmas have been borrowed from other spiritual tradtions. And not everyone celebrates the Religious aspects of this holiday as in many ways it's been also made into a secular holiday.
I think either well wish is fine. I normally say Merry Christmas but usually buy cards to send that say Happy Holidays b/c it includes the other celebrations that people observe this time ofyear

| 6. katiedoubleu (2953) | 4 years ago |  Frankly, I never understood all the hoopla about changing... December 25*is* Christmas and wanting to change what we say was always so silly to me. If we'd ban other groups from saying their greetings or celebrating their holidays, it would hit the proverbial fan. This got*way* out of hand over the last few years!
If I say Merry Christmas to a Jewish person, they were never offended. If I said it to a Muslim or Buddhist without knowing, same thing.. offense was never taken, they just said they don't celebrate, but Merry Christmas to ME.
I'm so glad some of the merchants are starting to wake up now!
