So, Sayid Shot the Yound Ben  | |  Now the question is, is he dead? If so how will it affect the future? It seems like a lot of paradoxes would be created but then the show has ignored the problem of paradoxes due to shifting times already. Young Ben being dead should change everything from Alex being his "adopted" daughter to "moving" the island to killing Locke and most of all the massacre of the Dharma Iniative. So is he dead or does he somehow live which just makes him even worse then he would have been? Any theories?

Technically, grown-up Ben never existed, and he was the reason they returned to the island. This really hurts my head! lol Also, at the very end, when everything was back to normal on the plane, it was really weird between them! yeah!

| | 2.  crispeater (1461) | 9 months ago |  I really don't see how Ben could be dead. If he was dead most of what has happened on the island would never have happened. Therefore Sayid would never have returned to the island, travelled back in time and shot Ben. Maybe Ben will survive the gunshot wound because of the islands healing powers. After all Locke was dead and now he isn't.
Another possibility is that if Ben has been killed then this will somehow create an alternate reality. I'm confused thinking about it.

But the show doesn't seem to mind violating all kinds of physical laws and doesn't worry about paradoxes, so he could be dead and it might not change anything that has already happened. | |
