Do you take Omega 3 fatty acids?  email this discussion to a friend?

I use to but now I take flaxseed oil with the omega 3 fatty acids in them. I was having a problem taking the omega 3 gels separate it made things not smell good you know where, very embarrassing. So I switched to flaxseed with the fatty oils in them. So what do you take for supplements anything? Do you have any trouble with smell taking the omega 3 fatty acids?

I used omega in its natural form. I have added mackerel to my diet. I have noticed, that although I do not like fish too much, I have felt so much better since I have acquired a taste for it. happy - Derek

I eat fish but only certain kinds. Haddock or cod. My husband fishes sometimes and I will eat the blue gills he gets but thats about it, salmon isnt too bad if its smoked.

I don't take Omega but have heard good things about it. My daily supplement is a Centrum vitamin and during the winter months vitamin C. My husband had problems with his gums from taking too much vitamin c so I am careful not to overdo it. My daily eating habits are not that great and really should think about taking folic acid.

Hi carolbee if u are a smoker you need extra vitimin c. do you bruise easily? If so its cuz your lacking vitimin c. omega 3 is presribed for me from my doctor to keep my good cholestrol good and make the bad better. You really should consider it, i just bought the orderless kind though I was having problems with smell from the regualar kind.

Only my forearms bruise easily but my doctor told me it's from the aspirin I take each day. I did cut it back to 5 days a week instead of 7 and that seems to help. My husband sees a peridontist and he told him his gums had a problem from taking vitamin c. So I only take during the colder months and stop in the warmer weather. Don't want gum problems! It was the first time I'd ever heard of this problem.

I take supplements since I was a child. Now I'm taking primrose oil which can replace or do the same job that the omega oil can do. I don't care much about the smell but my health. I've multi-vitamins, soya isoflavones etc.... I take them on a daily bases.

You can find now in the health food store some odorless fish oil (3-6-9) it is new you might not find it everywhere. But I take the omega 3 oil alone because of my arthritis and the flax seed oil I don't take because it make me go to much,it is loosen me up ( diarrhea)so I live without it,I don't smell bad.
