How to keep dogs away from ticks?  

they have to get medication for the vet, that is the only thing that will really work, you don't want to wait too long before they come into you house and you get them in your floors and furniture and bedding and on yourself too.

Hi, I understand as a pet owner what you go thru when you see your dog scratching himself to death and you are helpless...well one thinsg to keep the ticks away or avoid is as soon as they get home after their long walks, wash their paws immediately with disinfectant...when the dogs are out these ticks stick to their paws and thats how our pets get infected. Also I agree that you need to ask your vet for tick medication. All the best...hey what kind of dogs do you have? I had a Lab but unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago. You could get some kind of pesticide for your yard to keep ticks out of it. they also have a product called Frontline that you use on your dog once a month and it keeps ticks off of your dog. If they get on your dog, it will kill them anyway. You can also use a flea and tick collar for them also. They work really well.
