"Friendly" Flirting |
| |
| My husband and I are very happily married, and we plan to stay that way until one of us dies. We also both have a lot of platonic friends of the opposite sex. He has female friends, I have male friends, friends that we knew before we met eachother. These friends have now become OUR MUTUAL FRIENDS, and we both know them and trust them, and know and trust eachother in their presence. I often "flirt " with my friends, for fun. The other day I walked upto one and asked him how the "second bestlooking guy in Guelph" was doing. He laughed and asked me who the best looking guy was. I pointed to my VERY LARGE wedding band, and said "the man who gave me this ring, of course!" I am emphasizing the size of my wedding band only to mention that it'd be hard for me to flirt seriously (or for someone to fall for it) unless everyone around me was totally blind. LOL I don't mean it's big for the size of the stones in it (there are no stones) rather that the band itsself is very very wide. My husband knows all about this, and totally get it. He trusts me, and he trusts my friends. Last night we attended a memorial service for one of my male platonic friends, now one of our friends, who recently passed away suddenly. Attending the memorial were a lot of the members of the radio club he ran, a club which I was a member of, and the place where we originally met. The running joke is that I would kiss the guys in the radio club (on the cheek of course!!) and that I was going to continue to kiss them on their cheeks, no matter what my marital status. My husband is now a member of the same radio club, joining soon after he met me. We laugh about this, and he jokes that now that even though we are married, I still have my "reputation" to keep up. hahahahaha Remember, these are some of our CLOSEST and most trusted friends. Last night at the service I "had the privilage of sitting between my husband, and one of the best looking guys in the radio business." My husband was also in broadcasting for quite a few years, so he teases me that I must have a thing for radio broadcasters. haha Do you flirt among your CLOSEST FRIENDS? How does your partner feel about it, if you have a partner? Do you also use this flirting as a great opportunity to brag about your fantastic partner? | | | | | |

| | yes im a huge flirt with some of my male friends.. i just make sure they know i am not meaning it to go anywhere and then once they get that then we usually flirt back and forth all the time.. i think its good to help build up your esteem (not that you have a low one but flirting does help you feel good etc) and i think it may even make some people more faithful because they are getting to act flirty but if its with some one they know it wont go anywhere then they get the ego boost.. feel more attractive when they go home to their mates and become better lovers.. lol at least that is an theory i have heard and seen with some people | | | | | | |

| | I could see flirting happening, if we were able to spend any social time together with anyone but family. Mostly if we are both off work together we are with each other, or at church. I do have friends of both sexes, and so does Bob. He is also a kid magnet, which is another story. Neither one of us worry about the fidelity of the other, and we both have had friends much longer than we have been married. A lady he used to date did track him down clear across country, courtesy of his sister, but it was a friendship thing as well. I do have male friends who would give me a hug around the shoulders, but they know that it is okay, and I am comfortable with them. On our honeymoon we ran into his deceased girlfriend's sister who was very close to him, but that is no threat either. | | | | | | |

| | Without trust your marriage is worthless and will never be a happy or long experience. You both sound so happy all the time and it's more than obvious you trust each other with your life. The minute the trust is gone so is the marriage. I remember one time my husband and I were sitting in a truck stop cafe having lunch, we finished eating and I was drinking my coffee. Back in those days you could smoke and we both did. I took my cigarettes out of my purse and my lighter wouldn't light no matter how hard we both tried. My husband said, "I'll be right back I'll go ask the girl at the counter for a book of matches." Now remember this was a truck stop meaning people were comming and going steady and many were paying for gas, and there I sat with my cigarette between my fingers and hubby still in line. The man at the next table came over and he very kindly lit my cigarette for me about the time my raging mad hubby got to the table and demanded we leave. That's just one small example of why my marriage is a failing one and yours is strong. Keep up the good work my dear friends. | | | | | | |

| | Hello Sweets I used to flirt alot when I was married but don't very often now because while I was married I felt safe but now I'm afraid someone may take it the wrong way. Weird thing is that the ex was not a flirt but was a big time cheater. I think that cheaters seldom openly flirt and those that openly flirt are not usually cheaters. xoxoxoxo | | | | | | |
