snakes

i wonder how the snakes went into the box? any picture of t he snakes?

Well, he was very lucky! That's part of the dangers of his nture of work I suppose.

OMG, just where the heck do you live, the old west? Rabid wild animals, bucking horses and now rattlesnakes! I can't wait to hear what happens next.

I hate snakes. The only good snake is a DEAD snake. My dad used to work for the city water department in the small town I grew up in. He had to read meters as part of his job. He would usually be the one driving the truck while one of his co-workers actually opened the boxes and read the meters. I remember him talking about finding rattlesnakes and other snakes inside the boxes. A lot of times, especially in rural areas, these boxes will end up being uncovered by the property owners, or the lids will not be on the boxes completely, so it is easy for snakes to get inside them. I have done some work around water meter boxes as well. Thankfully, I have never found a snake in one YET. However, on more than one occasion, I have found black widow spiders and other animals calling these boxes home. I learned very quickly not to open a box without at least a pair of gloves on my hands.

I live in Florida and we tend to see more snakes on our property during the dry season because we have a canal. Since it's the dry season now we've been keeping our eyes open when we're in the yard. I worry about my animals because they're too stupid to know to stay away from a snake...especially the mean cat.

Okay mylotters, why is it that most people say they hate snake but then a lot of the ladies will go out and buy snake skin handbags........and the men will pay big money for snake skin shoes? I'm just curious where it's a double standard, love/hate relationship that some of us humans have with snakes?
