was your child born with any rare birth defects?  | |  My daughter was. She was diagnosed with craniosynostosis at birth (she is now 4 months old). It is when the sutures in the skull fuse together before the birth. She has to have surgery on her head so that her head and brain will grow properly.

They cut the entire length of his head cause his soft spots were already closed up. He has a scar that goes all the way around his head, but his hair covers it up mostly. He is 21 and in college now.

| randi1201 (13) | 9 months ago | thanks. no, they said they dont know what causes craniosynostosis. there are other symptoms that can occur with craniosynostosis as well, but they have to look into the parents genes to see if the baby has any other things wrong with him'her, but they havent done any genetic testing with us yet. she has her first appointment out here with the new doctors (we just moved to a different state) on thursday, so hopefully i will know more then. | |
