What are the good places in NY? | | Me and my family are planning to go to NY for spring break. We've never been to NY before so aside from the Tower of Liberty where else could we go? I've heard about the 5th Ave. shopping district, the central park...where else? We have 4 kids to take with us (17, 15x2, 11) so we don't want them to feel bored. Also how is the NY weather in spring? What restaurants are good there? Which bus tour in NYC is the best? Thanks a lot!

This way, your time is your own. I know you could go online to check which train to ride and where to board and other things like that. With the tour buses, not only are they too expensive, you are very limited as to what you would see. These tour buses just go around the usual tourist spots. I am not sure about restaurants in the area coz my friends and I are not into that. If we see a McDonald's or other stuff to eat in the street on the way to our destination, then that's what we eat. I think it is good for you to try that too. Makes you feel like a local. You might want to attend a broadway show or something. There are a lot showing now. If it is not in your budget, try off-broadway shows. Theirs are good productions as well even if they are not as well known. Of course, don't forget to visit the usual spots for tourist, you won't regret it. I would suggest that if you want to visit the Empire State Building, go at night- a little bit after nine in the evening is good. No more lines and the view of NYC at night is fantastic. If you're going to visit the Statue of Liberty, try to get on the first ferry boat- around 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning. The first ferry has less crowd and you'll be one of the first in line. I suggest that one of you line up for the tickets and the others line up for loading area to the ferry. That way, once you have your tickets, you already have a place in line of the loading area. Going early in the more also means that you won't be with the crowd trying to take a picture of Lady Liberty. You don't have to wait for a group to finish taking pictures before taking your own. Hope you enjoy your stay.
