Ace Of Cakes and Cake Decorating...

I love to watch Ace of Cakes. All of them are so creative. I don't decorate cakes or make any fancy ones like they do on that show. My daughter's sister in law used to make and decorate cakes before she got married and started her family. She made my daughter's wedding cake and my grandson has had the privilage of some of her special cakes.

When I was younger I used to decorate birthday cakes for friends and family members. My high school used to have a cake backoff and auction as a fundraiser, and I think that's what got me started. I wish I had pictures to share, for an amature, some of them came out pretty good. One of my best was a replica of a Three Muskateers bar for a family member for which that was a favorite. I also did one wedding cake, although it was difficult because of the summer heat.
Ace of Cakes is one of my favorite shows too. I love watching Duff's antics and seeing how the cakes come out. He has a great bunch of people working with him. My son lived in Baltimore for a while and I'll never forgive him for not going to the shop and getting pictures...lol. Oh well. Some of the food challenges have some interesting and ornate cakes too. I love that show as well, although there's one judge that rubs me the wrong way... Have you watched any of those shows?

I love those cake challenge shows! Ace of cakes too! I love how they require talent to make and they aren't something you see everyday. I like the art that goes into it. I don't bake but I really want to taste that fondent stuff. I had no idea most formal cakes are covered in it, I can't ever remember noticing it at a wedding. I would like to be able to learn how to do this but it seems like an expensive hobby. I'll just stick to enjoying other people show off their talent doing it on TV.

That show is so cool, I record it on my DVR every chance I get. I think it is so cool that they put so much time and effort into those cakes for people. Have you ever been on their website? I checked it out and I thought the site was cool too. It is really costly to get a cake from them too. FRom what I could see it is about 1,000 and that is to start. I wish I could decorate cakes.I have tried but I am not good at it.I like to watch the Ace Of Cakes show too.I have always wished I could make beautiful decorated cakes. I like to watch the bake offs on the cooking channel.The people who are contestants are really talented. The ideas they come up with for making and decorating the cakes are fantastic.

I love to eat cake like anyone easle but I do not watch these shows. "Let them eat cake" was the famous qote that Marie Antonette once said. but we know what happen to her. but be that as it may, the kind of cake I love to eat is bithday cake or cholete cake.

Nope we just do little things for Birhtday but mostly have store do it.

i have watched it. he's really something alright. my friend is really hung up on watching it. i do well to make a cake anymore. lol

I love to watch cake decorating shows also. I don't think I am motivated to make any though.

Wow, those are beautiful! I've never been able to decorate a cake very well, I depended on the candy decorations that you can buy. The kids liked to eat them, anyway! My son, though, got quite good at it. He doesn't do it any more but I still have his decorating tips and stuff.
