Anyone knows how to get a still photograph from a video?

a video? as in vhs?

Regardless you need to connect it to the pc and then copy it across from the the camera to your pc. Then you want to look at the format.

You'll then want to encode it to*.avi and then you can open the video in virtual dub.

OR you could just play the video on your pc.

Regardless - get something to capture images - like capturewiz etc

You then stop the video where you'd like to take the picture, select around image and save as a picture to harddrive

Not sure of the video quality but it might be ok.

I use WinDVD. You just play the video, and you can pause it where you want to get a still. If you don't hit the exact frame you need, you can step ahead or back. Then you just click the capture button. After you are done capturing all the ones you want, right click on the capture button, which will oopen the option to save all the pictures you have captured. (Or you can save each one as you capture it, in case the computer crashes). I have WinDVD 5, but I don't know if newer versions still have this feature. I think they probably do, though.

No, what exactly do you want. Do you want the files to be recovered from your memory card or you want to make still photoes from your video?

Both of them are possible. You can opt to format the memory card and then use some recover software to get all of your images back in your pc.

If you want to take snapshot from video then I must say that you can't get the same quaility. You can see this video from "VLC" player and use snapshop option to get a still picture!

If you want to take photgraph from video then there are so many software for that. Search photo capturing software from video on google I your problem get solved.
