Have you ever noticed?

My pet peeve is when a police car will turn on his lights and/or siren to get through an intersection when the light is red and later on down the road I see that he wasn't responding to an emergency because he's parked at McDonald's or something. Yes, many of them take advantage of their positions but, then again, when I worked for the phone company many years ago, I made long distance calls for free from the break room every chance I got.

It would be nice if people who enforce laws would always follow the same laws they're enforcing - but, obviously, (given your experience & experiences I've had, too) this isn't the case. Not to say that all cops disobey traffic laws, but I've seen a lot of cops turn on red (when you're not supposed to), not use blinkers, go through red lights (when they're not in an apparent emergency), and so on. I think it's our jobs, though, and the jobs of other officers, to make sure that they're following the law.

What you CAN do, if you have enough time & want to put the effort into it, that is, is get the number off of the back of their squad car - and report them and whatever they did wrong to the precinct they belong to. I'm not sure how seriously officials take this, but at least it's our way of trying to fight back. It's not fair that they don't follow the very rules they're enforcing us to follow; it makes them hypocrits.

yes ur right, and it is always like that only, the govt officers impose laws on us but they never follow them on their own . like u can just see the example wht police does if u have a fight with someone or if u beat someone they will drag u behind the bars, but when they beat a criminal or torture him for some information who is there to look out 4 them . my personal opinion on this topic is that there should be another government agency to look behind all this illegal things that the govt employees do .

Hmpf - here in the United States maybe 20% of the population signal lane changes or turns. It is not just government vehicles, it is about 80% or more of the population. Only a few care about courtesy, safety, or the law.

Like cell phone use during driving. They finally outlawed it here after hundreds in this area were killed because of inattentive drivers. Granted the number of driving cellphone users decreased, but I still see them out there, especially during afternoon rush hour where most accidents occur.

That is why I do not drive anymore. Most drivers are criminal psychopaths, at least in this area, (Sacramento, CA) thinking they can do anything they want to as long as they are not caught by the authorities. I am sure there are few exceptions, but the majority are pure violent criminals.

I guess there is nothing you can do about it. They are the authority unless they are caught by other police officers. I do believe that they do abuse their powers.

I did notice in this state,you're not allowed to use your cellphone while driving.I've police officers talking on thiers while they drive.I think that makes them a hyprocrite.No cop uses thier blinker,they just suddenly turn.I did notice,you're right about it.

yeah the same happened in my country, they really pissed me off a lot. They probably thought they had the power and beleived that no police officers would take care of it.

I see things like that all the time expecially police officers talking on the cell phone while driving. they dont have to follow the rules because who is going to do anything about it?

I hate that also. I will notice plenty of times cops change lanes without signaling. But yet when i fell to signal just one time a cop pulls me over. I hate it. I think cops should take a driving course every so often to remind them the rules still apply for them.
