Where Does Faith Come From? |
|
Every Christian should know that the only way to truly believe in Jesus or the Bible is with faith. You can try to prove everything all day long and at the end of it all you will be frustrated and irritated, because someone will always have a point that you do not know how to answer. (not that there isnt an answer just that it is hard to know how to answer every argument)
So where exactly does faith come from and more importantly how can you share it with someone else and it have a good impact on their life?

God has his ways to prove things to us. We should be able to prove anything we would need to concerning God and our relationship with Him by our natural everyday actions. The way we live our lives and treat our fellowman. Jesus was our example of this. Jesus didn't try to prove anything to anyone until God had first proved a bunch of things to him. Most Christians are trying to do some things they are not qualified to do. You simply can't teach correctly until you have first been taught correctly. I am not talking about man's teaching. I am talking about God's personal teaching.

However some of the facts are very hard to prove to a non-believer wouldnt you say? I am going to have to meditate on the second part of your answer! That is deep, I have often wondered at the statement Jesus made to that affect, about doing only what he seen the Father doing. What and where do you think he saw those things? I agree that we must be taught correctly before we can teach. The hard part is wanting to reach people and them scoffing at you or saying your wrong or false. Thanks for your response.

Arkie69 (1096) | 8 months ago | This is the point I am trying to make. We are not what we should be as Christians. If we were we would be living our lives before our friends and neighbors in a way there would be no doubt we had God in our lives. 2nd Timothy chapter 3 sums it up pretty good. This is what we have become in the churches. Verses 5 and 7 are the key. Verse 5 says; Having a form of Godliness but denying the power thereof, from such turn away. Verse 7 says; Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
The christian teachers are real good at explaining why we are not supposed to have the power of God in our hands at this point. This is not correct. They teach this for the simple reason they do not have that power and they don't want to look like they are less than they should be. The power of God in a man's, or woman's hands today is just as real as it was when Jesus walked this earth. You're tight, we can't prove anything for the simple reason we are a bunch of fake Christians.
Why are we fake? Verse 7 tells you. Forever learning and never able to learn the real truth. We are choosing to go into a church and sit and listen to some man's opinion when we are supposed to be listening to God and receiving His wisdom directly from Him.
You're right again. Faith without works is dead. That is exactly the situation we are in as Christians. We struggle to believe but there is no one around that can show us anything. Words are all they have to gives us and words alone will not get us where we must go.
If you were my neighbors you are supposed to know I and my wife both have the power of God in our hands to heal our family when they are sick and maybe even one of your kids that are sick. You should also know that you could come into my home and we could SHOWyou how you can have the same in your home. Not just tell you but actually show you the benefits of our personal relationship with God and Jesus. Sorry for getting on my soap box.

The same goes for Jesus, you have to believe that his going to take you where he wants you to go, you have to have faith to trust him, without it you begin to think the world is against you.

shewolf52002 (622) | 8 months ago | I really like the last part of your answer, however isnt the world per se against us? If the world hated Jesus how much more will they hate us? Wow, I just got revelation from that! I knew you were a good friend to have! lol.

3. Zo0mZo0m (643) | 8 months ago | Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Faith can be as small as a mustard seed and can become as great as the mustard tree. Faith is ever increasing. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We cannot please God except by faith. Faith without works is dead.

shewolf52002 (622) | 8 months ago | That is good too, I have often wondered what a measure is. But when I dont feel like I have the faith to pray for something I remember that scripture.
