They Don't Have Mass Shootings in Texas |
| |
| And do you know why? Because everyone's packing heat. I was in the gun shop today and remarked to my husband, "I have never felt safer than I do right now." Can you imagine some crazed madman storming a gun store? It's not going to happen. Everyone in there is packing and they are all expert marksman. Ever since the tragic shooting in Binghamton ny, for which my heart breaks and my prayers go out to the families of the victims, one thought has been going through my mind...if even one of those people had been armed they could have prevented the senseless, tragic deaths of all those people. The solution isn't disarming decent, law abiding citizens, but to arm those same citizens and let the criminals know that they will no longer be free to terrorize our society with impunity. I have begun carrying concealed because I do not feel safe trusting my life or the lives of my family to the police. Those people in Binghamton would have done well to take responsibility for their own safety as well. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Notice it doesn't say, "the right of the MILITIA," it says the right of THE PEOPLE. I am "the people". The founding fathers were not just guaranteeing the rights of the military, but MY rights as "the people." http://www.youtube.com/wa... So before you come in here and run your mouth about what you think you know about the Constitution, I suggest you stop listening to the propaganda and take the time to learn what it actually says. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gripreX2aiQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joBMq6b4MmE&NR=1 Do not fall for the same lies that have ensnared the people of Australia and Britain. They believed the lie that it's the government's job to protect them and care for them and as a result they've surrendered their God given rights of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for a little free healthcare and welfare. They are helpless against their government and those who would subjugate them. Get informed and exercise your rights. | | | | | |

| | The question is whether we, as innocent citizens have the ability to access guns at all. Some mad people just take out gun and shoot people randomly, without reasons. Our government allowed guns to be sold to anyone easily, without stricted restrictions. We should take more control on gun controls. Enough tragedies to happen nowadays. | | | | | | |

| | No no no. Enough gun control. Gun control has never, ever stopped someone from picking up a gun and blowing someone's brains out. gun control doesn't work. Period. But if a criminal knows you are packing he will think twice before attacking you. | | | |

| | Regulating or putting restrictions on guns doesn't work, if a person really wants to get a gun he/she can get one illegally through the black market | | | |

| | We HAVE gun control laws, if they enforced existing laws it would greatly reduce the availability of ILLEGAL guns. We don't need new laws, the ones we have are good enough, if they were actually enforced. | | | |

| | Y'know...the Constitution doesn't say "you have the right to bear arms unless you have been convicted of a felony"...at least, when it was written it didn't...so what makes you think they can't take YOUR gun? Be very afraid... | | | | | | |

| | ~ Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third President of the United States, was this nation's greatest champion of representative democracy and the rights of man. He was our most eloquent spokesman on the founding principles of American self-government. As he himself said, "I know my own principles to be pure and therefore am not ashamed of them. On the contrary, I wish them known and therefore willingly express them to everyone. They are the same I have acted on from the year 1775 to this day, and are the same, I am sure, with those of the great body of the American people." (letter to Samuel Smith, 1798) "The essential principles of our Government... form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty and safety." --1st Inaugural Address, 1801. I would suggest everyone take the time to study our Constitution and The Declaration of Independence. It's a great feeling when you know your principles to be pure... And, when you finish studying it, study it and read it again and again and again. Let the Second Revolution begin! | | | | | | |

| | You know another reason why they don't have shootings like that in Texas? Because there is an express line to Capital Punishment! They also still have chain gangs. And if you torque off the wrong warden, you get to do the chain gang in a pink jumpsuit. I don't believe the government should/is protecting me. And they can't buy me off with the promise of healthcare and welfare. People who need these things don't qualify, so why bother? And they can have my gun when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers. | | | | | | |

| | Anyone who thinks that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is talking about the rights of anyone but the individual, as in the rights of the people against whatever the government might wish to do to violate those rights, has no idea what they are talking about and shut just shut the hell up. That includes any of the amendments and any other thing in the Constitution... which is the defining document on the limits of the government against the people. The 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting or sporting events of any kind, and has everything to do with protecting ourselves from an out of control government... especially our own. Anyone who claims anything differently than that truth has shown themselves to be a fool who doesn't know what they are talking about... and that includes Supreme Court Justices such as Souter who doesn't believe the Constitution was meant as a way to limit government power on behalf of the people. Frankly, I have had my fill of activist judges who legislate from the bench in opposition to the laws that the people voted on and decided. The time has come to start dragging these judges out of their courthouses and answering for their crimes directly to the people whose laws they are ignoring and ruling against. The time has come to take our country back from an evil and oppressive government at every level... from the lowliest city clerk, to the thieving Congress, and the ineligible usurper in the White House. THAT is the reason for the 2nd Amendment, and that is the reason that our government is constantly trying to find new ways to control the availability of guns... because they are afraid of what the people will do when the government finally goes too far... and it will. For all of those foreigners who like to weigh in on US politics.... you have no dog in the fight, and it is none of your concern.... so keep your opinions to yourself, as you have n clue as to what you are even talking about. To all of the Americans who are in favor of gun control... get educated really fast... because you also have no clue. Otherwise, I hope you like slavery... because the government wants to be your master instead of your servant. | | | | | | |

| | The idea of not allowing certain individuals their rights because of illegal activities, or some perceived mental illness has not been lost on me. While on the surface it seems a good decision to keep guns out of certain hands, I know how easily such things can be politicized in order to bring about a back door ban for everyone. You do it one crime at a time, or one psychological profile at a time, until no one is considered to be qualified to exercise their Constitutional rights. There was a time when a person was considered to have paid their debt to society... however that no longer applies. Gun control has only one purpose, and it has nothing to do with making us safe from the bad guys, and everything to do with denying us our rights and making us weak enough to be the victim of anyone who is armed... whether they be criminals, or whether it is our government, who themselves are some of the worst criminals. To my mind, every gun law ever written violates the Constitution and is thereby illegal.... because every gun control law ever written infringes upon the rights of people to own guns. | | | |

| | I'm torn on this issue, admittedly. I believe that if you are convicted of a violent crime, especially one involving a gun, you should lose your right to own a gun. I know that makes me a hypocrite in the eyes of some, but I believe that if you are able to do it once, you'll do it again. I think the whole "any felony" is ridiculous. Not all crime is equal and it's ridiculous to treat it that way. | | | |
Destiny007 (4866)

| | I must admit to being torn on this as well.. however, I also believe in Capital Punishment for murder. When a person is released from prison they have supposedly paid for their crime in full unless they are paroled. These gun laws say otherwise. My biggest problem with this idea is that criminals can be created by the whim of government, at which point the government then says that they don't have the right to have a gun. Now there is a big movement to do psychological profiles on gun owners and applicants, to see if they are mentally suited to own a gun. I say that this is just a stealth attack on law abiding gun owners whose rights are being dictating at the whim of those making the profiles. If these criminals are truly a danger to society, then keep them locked away.... otherwise their rights are just as important as anyone else. I do not trust the government to determine who has rights and who doesn't. | | | |
