The importance of wisdom and mercy and patience in the face of insults thrown at Islam cannot be overemphasized.

Gr8 discussion

I do feel that people with differing views should be respected and express there views without making personal attacks. Arguments just divide and separate people and creates mistrust. "Constructive Criticism" should be utilized more where people comment on weaknesses in the opposing debaters support rather than basing them on a personal scale that has nothing to do with the discussion.

Any thoughts should be allowed to be expresses on the forum. Just like with the constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech this allows people to express opinions that you find offensive/stupid. However, making people follow rules of political correctness stop true discourse. A line should obviously be drawn for people who are not contributing to the discussion but are just rude/obnoxious but making conclusions on "bad" information is just ignorant not necessarily abusive. If someones religion clashes with another to the point that they feel it is not even valid their view should be acknowledged but not necessarily accepted.

Not at any cost. This is too unfair. I say those people are not religious minded at all. They are the fanatic and thus heretics. Actually if you are referring the matter to India yes, exercising one's religion and belief comes under the Fundamental Rights and thus there is judicial as well as administrative protection for those who are being victimised.

The truth inflames many. Since there is only one true God, and since He is absolute in all of His attributes, then when fuzzy, warm "God is Love, (to the exclusion of all other attributes), types start whining that the fundamental Christian is too hard on other faiths, they are wrong.

If the fundamental teachings of God are offensive to others then it is an issue to be addressed to God. I am sure that there are Muslims who are good people. That doesn't change the fact that their faith is wrong. Not only that, it isn't me saying that it wrong, it is Islam itself that proves, (by simple, logical extension), that the Muslim faith is untrue.

Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, To eternal life in Heaven, and therefore the other faiths must be wrong. I dopn't say so, God does!

Hi cooler, I believe that we should all respect each other's views, as long as no one is being intentionally harmed or breaking the law of the country. Whether a person believes in a God,Gods, Goddesses or is an atheist should not matter. It is their right and history teaches us what happens when that right is taken away. When someone starts screaming,"I know that I'm right and everyone else is wrong", it's then that the trouble starts. Blessings.

Aye well, exactly the group you perceive as victims were the worst perpetrators a while back, perhaps what goes around, comes around!

I landed on myLot, quite by accident, three years ago, when searching for information on Google. It led me to a discussion which clearly stated there is no God. I joined myLot and replied.

That discussion was written by a confirmed atheist. I am a Christian whose relationship with my heavenly Father through the Lord Jesus Christ, has first priority in my life. Did we disagree? Of course we did!

We had numerous discussions, with lengthy debates, but ALL were conducted with absolute respect and NO put-downs or anything offensive. We became firm friends. We both left myLot two years ago, but remained firm friends. (I have recently returned here).

A person who uses put-down or ridicule or unsupported claims to support their point of view are usually unsure of their own position. I welcome ideas of other people, providing they are respectful and polite.
