Has Anyone Tried Magnesium Supplement for Fibro

I dont have fibro but I tried a Magnesium and calcium supplement for my nerves. This helps a bit. I would think that it might help a bit for fibro. Has your mother tried Guaifenison for fibro? They say this will help.

I have Chronic Fibromyalgia but I have not heard of this, so thank you for this information. I will talk with my Doctor and see what he says. I currently take Lyrica which makes my chronic pain liveable to a degree.

i was diagnosed w/ fibro nearly 2 yrs ago...have tried soooo many things!
my chiropractor also has fibro. she suggested that i soak in epsom salts.
(2 cups in a tubfull). she says the magnesium will soak in through your pores and
really help...i also take magnesim supplements.

have you ever heard of eft...it is a form of tapping. google it to learn the points
to tap (sort of accupuncture w/o the needles) i tap daily and it helps as well.
fibro is just difficult and we all react so differently..hope this helps!

I take a lot of suppliments and meds.

Gabapentin and Salsalate (sp?) for meds

and

Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc and Ginko.

That combo is the only thing that I have found works for me. I can tell if I miss one of the suppliments (especially that vit. D).

I was taking Calcium and Magnesium supplements years ago for my Fibromyalgia symptoms but it did absolutely NOTHING for me. My cousin was taking it and she felt some improvement. Sometimes I wonder whether it is actually the medication that is helping or maybe it is just a "remission" period. I can be feeling absolutely horrible for months on end and then wake up one day and feel fantastic. It can come and go whenever it wants whether I am on meds or not. Fibromyalgia has a mind of its own and I think medication is all just trial and error. What works for one, does not work for someone else. I'm sorry that your mom has to suffer with this because I have had it for ten years and I know first hand how horrible it can be.
