How was your Easter?  

I did my gardening yesterday after the community clean up. I was telling my husband that I wanted to plant a garden so I am turning to you for advice when I decide to do it. We came home too and I put a ham in the oven, made mashed potatos and corn. I had green beans but everyone said corn. We just ate around 7:39 pm. I am so tired and so are the kids. They played outside for a while but they are drained.

Well, if you want to turn to me OK but you know what I do. I go online or call my Mom for garden tips. My roommate does all the work I just supply the money for the veg. and peppers. He wants peppers but they had to be planted last month in the house or last week. Radishes will grow anywhere almost. Just type in what your wanting to plant and it will come up. I kind of wanted to plant watermelon. My kids love watermelon, or melon, but prefereably watermelon. I wouldn't mind planting cucumbers, tomatoes, or squash. I have dogs in my backyard so I know they will ruin whatever I plant so I was thinking of doing a little garden in our front yard along our side fence. I really worry about the weather here because in a month or so it will be really hot.

So did they do something today or another day? It's nice that you were able to spend time with your niece. Do you enjoy spending time with your niece?

I take it as a blessing because we have been low on funds since my school didn't give me my full Pell Grant. I go back and forth to school which is quite a distance away so right now I am waiting. Waiting to see if I can get in another class, waiting to see if I will get a CalGrant because of the state's budget, but I am confident that God is with me all the way. We didnt' have money to really make Easter buckets and I save everything from last year but the kids were so excited about yesterday. I hadn't planned on the extra things like the egg hunts, or the egg toss, the free panning for gold. The mine shaft tours usually run $1.50 a person, the panning $1.00 a person, the haunted shack is $2.00 a person so to get it free was a gift from God. We ate at the church so we were full by the time we got there and when we got home we put the ham in the oven. We paid only $8 something for it, which again I thank God that everyday we have food on the table. In these times I thank God for everything we do have. I tell the kids too.

My dad called me later on in the day and I really missed him. He sounded sad to spend Easter alone. I sense the same sadness that your sons didn't come. I think it's sad when your kids don't come over but you sound understanding as to why they didn't show up. This year I think I would have wanted to spend the time with them also but my husband doesn't get along with my mom, vice versa. I wished they would have had more Easter television programs than before. Now they hardly show anything about what Easter is really about.

You know I didn't know that Easter for Catholics didn't officially end after the Pentecost. Can you tell me about it because I am unfamiliar with the whole thing....

With five kids I considered it a miracle. I didn't know Easter was celebrated different days also boy you learn so many things from meeting different people from different countries. I am glad that you got your girlfriend something nice, always make her feel special and you will be on her good side always....

I think you were my only person who actually had alot of family to celebrate Easter with so congratulations. For that you deserve a best reponse.....

In the UK, we had Easter holiday from 10 April to 13 April, so it's four days.
