I also don't see the point. I mean, this is noble, of course, and it's very nice of them to take care of abandoned kids. But why not get children from their own country? Why do they have to fly somewhere else? If their purpose is sincere, then there's no need to fly in another country, 'coz there are a lot of abandoned kids or orphans in the US alone.

I really love the couple and it would be very grateful for our country to be chosen. Hope our authorities will let them adopt a Filipino.

It's good to hear that we know that many are children born here are neglected by their parents. We know that they can afford to adopt a child and they have adopted children already. They can support another child besides their 6 children. I'm not against adoption I think the future of the child is secure if the adoption of the couple might be happened. I recently hear the news that they secretly entered the Philippines this month to search for a the child to adopt.

I don't know why Angelina Jolie is turning her family into an international circus by adopting children from around the globe. Maybe it is part of her strategy to get more popular in the ever increasing competition of popularity quest among the hollywood personalities. I doubt whether these children ever get all the motherly love from her as she is forever busy with her acting. All we get to see her loving act with her adopted children is in glossy magazines cuddling the children. We really never know what is behind the curtains. For all we know the children might be cared for by nannies and not her personal touch. But how lucky these children are to always be in the limelight with a popular mother. At least they are better off then where they come from.

whilst their celebrity status and money, do you really believe that they can give the kind of support and guidance parents need to give their children? there's something hair raising eerie with the no. of children that they have and their unquenchable thirst to adopt. they can, with all nobility, give donations to orphanges and receive the same amount of love from their adoring public.

I've seen one of Brad Pitt interviewed, but I can't remember when was that, and one of the question is about the house that they were building somewhere in America, I think. He basically said that he want to build this house, so the kids would have a big chance to live normal and he also said that they were trying to give much time for their kids needs, I hope so. I am not a mother yet, but I know raising childrens are not easy and if this true, I just hope that they will give the love and attention that the kids needs. And I also hope that our government will do their home work before making a decision. I saw in the link and they said (ICAB) placement of Filpino children in a foreign families is a"last resort".

Well with the wealth they both have they could be very well able to afford to get the needed things that their adopted children can have on their prospect. I think of all their adopted children none have yet been discovered to have been mistreated by them. US has one of the strictest Social Workers to watch on them I guess. With regards to Burmese people I think they are a very conservative and is under a dictatorial regime. Being an antyi American too adopting a Burmese child would not be very good image for Burmese Government.

Well being a Filipino I guess there's a lot of really neglected children in here. Adoption centers are really full of kids and if these couple would indeed adopt a child I guess I would allow them for as long as they would undergo what an adopting parents would undergo.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are well known for their love of adopting children from overseas. I have a collection of costume dolls from around the world and they sit on my shelf not requiring any care. However the more children a couple adopt the less attention each one will get perhaps. I admire the stars that give a home to a child in the world that is unwanted. It was sad when I heard Madonna's application had been refused. In the case of Angelina Jolie I imagine the Burmese authorities must be tough. Sadly there are many unwanted children living in orphanages. Therefore it is wonderful when loving adoptive parents come along. Such news might encourage other couples to adopt.

OMG! These two are unstopable. I agree with you spoiledbrat802. It is very difficult to tend on a thousand children with different cultural backgrounds. It is very crucial that these give would be given the proper nurturing and caring. How can a mom and dad who is frequntly in the limelight and travelling around the world will be able to do that. The perks of having the best toys and dress is good but what about the social development of the kids...
