Estimates done on My Car to be fixed?

All I can say is WOW, who knew it was going to cost that much!?! I would go in to talk to the agent and bring those estimates with you. If the other claims adjuster said it's only worth $1345, then ask them where they got their estimate from? One thing about YOUR insurance agency...they are supposed to work with you and defend your standpoint. Definitely talk to them and show them the estimates, and be sure to tell them that you need a rental car. The other person's company is just trying to get off easier. It's pointless to talk with their insurance agency, that's what you pay your insurance agency for...to be the middleman and to bring satisfaction to the situation. Since it's not your fault for the accident, you have a much stronger point of what they should be paying. I've had my insurance co. dicker about a 'too low' price when my (now ex) hubby was in an accident. Our insurance company said the price was too low and unacceptable...and we got reimbursed for everything the estimates said, plus the rental car. I would definitely talk to the agent in person, and not just over the telephone. Good luck! Keep us posted how it goes.

I would get my own, and then take the one in the middle. That way, it would be able to bargain. If you go for the high one, then the Claim Examiner may not accept it, and if you go for the low one, then you will not get most of the estimate paid for. So what you do is to show all three estimates, and usually he will accept the middle one because both of you will have to pay a little.

I would go with whoever you feel the most comfortable with to do a good job. I would also submit it to the insurance company to make sure they will cover the difference.

I'm not understanding something... or maybe I'm not just getting what you are referring to. You can get it done for $350 plus dollars cheaper than the estimate? Why not take that... that's a deal! To me, common sense would say take the one that is $354 cheaper.
