Stopped carrying that brand? |
|
I think my store stopped carrying the brand of diapers I usually buy. I've been using this brand since my twins were babies, so for over 6 years. I absolutely love this brand. It's cheaper than the usual brands like Huggies, Luvs, and Pampers, but it works just as well in my opinion.
A couple weeks ago they had the diapers marked down from their usual $7 a pack down to $5. I was tempted to buy 2 packs and I should have! Because the following week they didn't have any at all!
I wasn't sure what to do. Obviously I have to buy diapers. My options were to go for the cheaper brand and hope they work as well, or to go for a brand like Huggies, Luvs, or Pampers, but they were $10 a pack!
I ended up choosing the cheaper brand and I HATE them!! I have to use twice as many because they don't hold as much. I've had to change my son's pants 5 times today because the diapers have leaked through and soaked the pants. He wakes up in the middle of the night needing a diaper change!!
This Friday when I go shopping, I'm buying one of the expensive brands!!
What brand of diaper do you use? Why do you like it?
Has a store ever stopped carrying a product that you really liked and used a lot? Did it force you to buy a cheaper version that wasn't as good, or a more expensive version?

I only ever buy the top named brands if they are on offer cheaper than what I normally get. I have tried the really cheap ones myself before now in the hopes of saving some money but in the long run it does not pay to go cheaper, they just ended up sore and wet all the time.

2. ravinskye (6270) | 9 months ago | I used walmart's brand diapers called Parents choice. They are about half the price of Huggies and such but they work almost as good. I've used them with all 3 of my kids. I hate when stores do that. I can't think of a specific time that has happened to me but I know that it has. I usually try to pick the next brand that is close in price but it usually doesn't work as good.

lilybug (15392) | 9 months ago | I used the Kroger brand ones on my son a lot when he was a kid. That is where I did most of my grocery shopping and they were cheap. I liked them, but then again I could use anything on him but Huggies. He leaked out of those every time.

4. ZephyrSun (3508) | 9 months ago | I haven't bought diapers for about 3 years now but when I did for my last child I hated every brand out there. When my older kids were babies I loved Huggies. That was 13 years ago though. If you are going to buy huggies you might want to go to coupons.com they use to have a $5.00 coupon to print. They change them but check and see.

5. Yori88 (1318) | 9 months ago | I have a son and he is now six and a half months old. I have been using diaper when my baby turned three months since my aunt gave birth which means I have to return the cloth diapers I borrowed. Then my husband always buy diapers every month. Our brand is Huggies. I know it is one of the most expensive but it is worth the pay. It holds more and does not leak even if it is already full. The diaper seems dry even if it has urine on it so it feels like it is not wet. My baby sleeps well with it. We have this brand that is not popular which made us use it by about a month. It has the same price as that of Huggies and the quality is also good. But then it was always out so we decided to stick with Huggies. We also used Pampers before but it is more expensive than other diapers including Huggies. And the Pampers I have used becomes gel after getting wet which makes my baby;s behind full of tiny and scattered gels. I do not know why that happens but with other brand it does not happen. Huggies has two kinds here in Philippines. The all blue pack which is known as Huggies Dry (this is what we use) and the other one is the Huggies Comfort which is more expensive and I think that was the most expensive diaper in the grocery we used to shop with.
Anyway I am really after my baby's comfort. I want him to have a sound sleep and I hate saggy diapers. My husband one time bought a brand we do not sure then the diaper really went wet! The cotton became rocks and then the diaper became a mess. We never tried that again. I would rather buy an affordable yet of good quality diaper than to try cheaper ones because they are usually fake and not of good quality. Anyway the Huggies Dry is very good and I do not have problems with it so far.

6. neerajpandey_13 (1306) | 9 months ago | General mentality of any shopkeeper is that they want to sell thise products which they have in stock. If sometimes they have stock of bad stuff then they sell these things as well.

8. lilybug (15392) | 9 months ago | I have never had a store stop carrying the brand of diapers I bought, but I have had them be out of the right size in the brand that I wanted and I bought a different brand rather than getting ones that were too big. With my daughter you could not use the cheap diapers. LUVS were the only ones that worked on her super large bladder.

9. bayernfan (524) | 9 months ago | Perhaps the store hasn't stopped carrying that brand afterall. If the price was reduced to $5 from $7, many people may have switched from higher priced brands to that one. There are a lot of people hurting financially right now who are looking to save some cash, so this could explain why the store has run out of stock. It could be that the store didn't expect this to happen, wasn't prepared, and hasn't resupplied yet. Did you ask a store employee or manager if your brand had been dropped by that store? Perhaps you should ask around to find another store that carries the brand? If nothing else, you'll know where to go if another store runs out or stops carrying that brand. Cheers.

katsmeow1213 (4931) | 9 months ago | Considering there were no spots on the shelves anywhere, and this was a store brand of diapers... I have to guess they no longer make them.

10. deejean06 (1160) | 9 months ago | Hi kats...I use either Target or Walmart diapers. They are the same price, it's just a matter of which store I'm closest to at the time. We use Huggies overnites at night because the regular diapers just weren't holding all the nighttime pee. And it's always a good idea to buy more than you need for the week because you never know when you'll run out and you're obviously going to need them for awhile. Good luck in your diaper hunting!
