Is our image getting better

I think his European visit actually hurt our image. With all of his apologies and his embarrassment over our "arrogance," he, more than Bush, has made us out to be the pariah of the entire world.

Hi savypat, I am greatly impressed with President Obama and think that you are very fortunate to have such a man at the helm at this time. I wish that we had someone of his caliber here in Canada. Your President is definitely helping his country on the world stage as he is the most respected of all world leaders. Blessings.

I think that people are actually starting to like us a little again..lol. He does have a good disposition and comes across as being very down to earth. I was pretty impressed with the coverage of him reading some kids a story on Easter.

first, if the rest of the world is going to like us or not like us based on one man in a government position, then they are fickle, shallow and it isn't worth worrying about their opinion of us. Second, I really don't give a rats asss what the rest of the world thinks of us, I worry about US, MY country and whats best for US. Arrogent? Hmmm, I wouldn't say I'm arrogent, but I am fiercly patriotic and very much a "my country first" kind of person.

It depends on what you mean by "helping." If you have to go against the grain of what America is to make someone like us, then it's false anyway. And let's be honest. America is the world's superpower. If we're no longer that superpower, the same people that hate us for being that will be without our help when they need it.

Does America need to be that superpower? Yes and no. If other countries would stand up against terror, genocide, radical extremism, etc, then this "everyone's equal" ideology would play better. But the fact of the matter is that America is the go-to guy when someone else is being bullied. People from other countries that think we're arrogant and don't like us do so for the exact same reason that they need us.

Their lack of presence in the world helped to create America's prowess. Now, just because they don't like us, we're supposed to apologize? Only in liberal land would this even begin to make sense!

Now it's supposed to be up to America, not only to attempt to save the world from terror and piracy and God knows what else, but to FORCE other countries to like us.

This makes the rest of the world that thought poorly of America seem petty, ridiculous and cowardly.

In a braver world, other countries would grow up before passing judgment. Obama will never change that. Any "help" he offers is completely false. If they only love America because they love him then it's a fad that will inevitably die out. And this means that the "help" is actually hurting, because it's helping for all the wrong reasons.

I believe without a doubt he is improving the world stage due to his willing to work with everyone willing to work with us for a better world for all. Being of mix race is also helping him because more people can relate to him. He's is not a stuff shirt type of President. Thank God!
